Arrogant. Scornful. Full of pride. Darnuir, prince of dragons, cares nothing for the damage he's doing to the faltering alliance against the Shadow. He thinks himself invincible - right up till a mortal wound forces him to undergo a dangerous rebirthing spell, leaving him a helpless babe in human hands.

Twenty years pass, and demonic forces are poised to sweep across the land. With the alliance between humanity, dragons, and fairies fracturing, Darnuir will have to uncover the secrets of his past, seek redemption for his sins, and rally the disparate races if they are to survive.

Only Darnuir can do this. For, he's the last member of the royal bloodline, and only he can wield the Dragon's Blade.

His second chance is the world's last hope.

One of the best fantasy trilogies I’ve ever read.

Brilliantly written and performed!
Characters are well defined but also develop and grow throughout the story. Magic is well limited so that no one individual is all powerful and yet there is incredibly powerful magic wielded at the same time. The cascade magical energy source is ingenious.

Interesting Story, But Not For Me

The narrator is excellent. The story is interesting to say the least. Typical good must defeat evil to save the world fantasy story line that we all love. I just couldn't get on board with the dragons in human form thing and how every character constantly seemed to have a problem with all the other characters, it got quite irritating to me. I am only partially through book 2 and I think I need to take a break and read something else for awhile then perhaps come back and try to finish this.

Incredible

I originally grabbed this just because the author seemed cool on Facebook and it was 3 books for 1 credit. I'm really glad I did. The story is great. There's fantastic character development that had me cheering for characters I hated to begin with and there are twists I never saw coming. I can't wait to check out more of the author's work.

Refreshing Fantasy Series

Great characters and realistic factionalism! Come for the story arcs, stay for the redemption!
Does not pull punches when it comes to characters in danger so if you didn't like GoT best stick to the YA books.
Good read if you are frustrated with impetuous youths!
Great read if you are frustrated with stubborn elders!

Absolutely delightful

Dialog is important to me in a good fantasy novel, and boy this author did not disappoint!
His grasp of the relationships between the main characters and how he communicated the inner turmoil between them was masterful! I adored every minute of this 45 hour trilogy and I hope this author writes more!

Worth a read. Felt a bit rushed toward the end

It did feel like it rushed a bit at the end of book 3, but it was engaging and i felt myself really caring about several of the characters. The characters are well constructed with reasonable and interesting flaws and strengths. For the volume and quality of entertainment, you won’t be wasting a credit

good story and pretty good voice reader.

I got the trilogy as one book because I like fantasy. This story is original and very interesting. It's not a happily ever after for everyone and the characters don't do everything you expect or want. I will definitely read more from this author.

Great book

First trilogy about dragons and I must says could not stop listening. The different characters and their parts to the main character fit perfectly to keep you interested. With attraction, friendships, to new beginnings it was an amazing story

Epic Perfection

If you are a fan of epic fantasy, sword & sorcery, or dragon tales and you haven't yet discovered this gem, you don't know what you're missing! This complete trilogy is well worth the money and your time as well. I love that I didn't have to wait for each book to come out separately to continue the story. Because once I was hooked, I wanted to continue through the entire epic. Which I did. Over several days of nearly non-stop listening.

Darnuir is the last of his line. He's cock-sure, hot-headed, and tough as nails. But he's not invincible. So the author kills our main character in the first chapter. Well, that was different... But you know an epic trilogy isn't going to end so quickly. This is, literally, just the beginning of this fast-paced other-worldly tale as dragons, humans, fairies, and trolls seek peace in a kingdom of strife.

There are fantastically rich characters here, including Darnuir, whose first life is marred by his reactive nature. So many wonderful personalities fill this tale. As amazing as the story itself is, I was often equally fascinated by the narrator. I couldn't believe one person narrated this intricate read full of different races, dialects, and genders. From fairies to rock trolls, I was impressed at every turn by the inspired voicings of Dave Cruse.

This is a great read for people like me who love to sink into an epic fantasy sometimes and forget about the madness of our world. Don't miss this one!
