As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo fly in on the Argo II, she can’t blame the Roman demigods for thinking the ship is a Greek weapon. With its steaming bronze dragon figurehead, Leo’s fantastical creation doesn’t appear friendly. Annabeth hopes that the sight of their praetor Jason on deck will reassure the Romans.

Story
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Lovely Book
I read a lot of fantasy and listen to even more, I love this three book series, it begins with the Warrior Heir, Wizard Heir and then there is the Dragon Heir. It is the story of a world where magic and the normal coenside, wizards are corrupt and enslave many magical creatures. Its wonderful and I love the subtile reveolutionary themes within it

Editing issues
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend the entire series. I really enjoy that the main character shifts from book to book but they are still relevant in the next books.
Any additional comments?
The narrator should not swallow so loudly into the microphone, it was very distracting. Editors should take more time to filter out or prevent background noise and lessen gaps between patches. This was an issue with the entire series.

even better than the first
I regret delaying my download of these books because of the negative reviews regarding the narrator. Overall I would say he is a better narrator than many other books I have downloaded here.
Now about the book, it is an exciting, and full of surprises, far better than many of the others out there that are getting so much hype. I strongly recommend this series to anyone adult or youth.

I keep struggling through despite the poor editing
Blame the editing, yet again, as we all need to fidget and swallow from time to time. Anyone who's every dealt in radio, online gaming, podcasting, or anything else, it happens. I love this series so much, and the voice work itself is excellent! But the editing, or possibly lack there of, is awful. All the popping, licking, swallowing... Recorded Books is definitely on my blacklist as a company.

Good Story - Poor Read
The Dragon Heir is a good story. The plot and character development are good. The way the story was read got in the way of a good story. Normally pauses are controled by the punctuation in a story. I haven't seen the written text of this story so I can't really tell if it is written to cause uncomfortable pauses in the middle of sentences or it was an affection of the narrator.

Rushed ending
I enjoyed the first 2 books so much I bought this one in hard back as well as audio. Seph is my favorite character and I was excited to read about his happy ending.
I was dissapointed, I thought that the author went too far in creating a desperate situation. Why would all the bad guys from all over the world come to wage war on the town, yet all the good guys think that it is not worth their time? What happened to all of the dragon's vast network? Why was there no mention of Peter or the other wizards who might be willing to help out? Because if the situation was not so desperate, Seph would not have to do stupid things to hold the sanctuary. I'd say 400 wizards against 5 children and an old man is desperate enough to give them some backup.
If purpose of this book was to tie together all the loose ends, it failed. It felt like it was thrown together at the last minute then sent to the printers without a decent editing job. It was not the worst I ever read, but there were holes in the plot, and the confict was not resolved to my satisfaction. Wizard Heir was much better.

Need voice actors
When i read a book i imagine the background, objects, characters, voice and time. Making animation in my mind. But hearing one person reading all story is kinda plain and single coloured.
