Publisher's summary

Newly minted doctor Jane McGill is in hell.

Not literally, of course. But between her drug addict patients, sleepless nights on call, and battling wits with the sadistic yet charming Sexy Surgeon, Jane can't imagine an afterlife much worse than her first month of medical internship at County Hospital.

And then there's the devil herself: Jane's senior resident, Dr. Alyssa Morgan. When Alyssa becomes absolutely hell-bent on making her new interns pay tenfold for the deadly sin of incompetence, Jane starts to worry that she may not make it through the year with her soul or her sanity still intact.

Fun and light

After a lot of heavy books that required complete attention, this was a joyful reprieve for me. It was funny and expressive, not to mention, related totally to my life as an operating room technologist. Loved it

the setting

the hospital is a crazy place to set a book but this book sets the stage for one’s feelings to connect with the characters

I loved this. I work in medicine and so much of this story was relatable. Now I want more! A sequel!

Not as good as I expected

I read some of the reviews and expected this book to be a lot better than it was. I wasn't that impressed. It seemed like the author focused a lot on a ridiculous relationship with a narcissist. I wouldn't read it again.

Trite

A very simple story. Typical romance.
I prefer her other books. I was bored with this one.

Loved it! Medical comedic romance

What a cute story and a fun but realistic picture of what I’d expect a new resident feels. I’ve been a nurse for a couple of decades, and it is tough, I’m more ways than is describable. The story spoke to my medical mindset, love of romcoms, intrigue and interest in everything Freida McFadden.

Never really went anywhere

The whole book felt like an intro to a story that is never told. Just kept waiting for the story to move along and then it was over.

Good listen

I really enjoyed this book while it lasted. My only “complaint” is that it ended abruptly. I’d love it if the story kept going a bit longer.

Cute and witty

Such a different genre for Freida McFadden. I totally enjoyed it. Light-mostly with realistic characters. Good read.
