After leaving Lockwood & Co. at the end of The Hollow Boy, Lucy is a freelance operative hiring herself out to agencies that value her ever-improving skills. One day she is pleasantly surprised by a visit from Lockwood, who tells her he needs a good Listener for a tough assignment. Every chapter made me hang on the end of my chair. The description was perfect and it made me feel like I was there in the room every time. Plus the relationship between Lockwood and Lucy makes me melt.

Best one yet!
I've always enjoyed these characters, but the author really excelled with the plot this time around. This book is well worth a credit.

Superb
This whole series is fantastic !!! I love how rich and enchanting the characters are. Each tale just as enticing as the first. I enjoy how the story isn't a straight line from begining to end, but infact has twists and turns and side roads that lead away then double back to the heart of the story. While I prefer Miranda Raison who read book 1 of this series Emily Bevan did a good job in giving eaxh character his/her own voice.

Just brilliant
This is the BEST series!!! I want to recommend it to everyone I know, and I have been attempting to do so :) So. Brilliant.
