This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... Best recording. Unmatched.
Finding a better recording of Call of the Wild is impossible. Bikel’s voice is like a dark river over smooth rocks. He never recorded books without each book meaning lots to him. A performance with clipped consonants, and a kind of undulating tempo. His accent is everywhere. Pre war Austria, Israel, Shakespeare’s training in London, then California.
