Publisher's summary
Yes, it was just like any other forest, except for two weeks every year. King Leopold the lion hosts the Annual Forest Games every spring, bringing together all the different animals for a series of competitions, where the usual hostilities are put aside and everyone works together to win the medals. But this year, a natural disaster leaves them in disarray and fighting to survive. Can they apply their teamwork skills from the games to get everyone to safety?
As the Annual Forest Games begin, marking the arrival of spring, wise King Leopold hopes that the experience of the competition will help bring together the forest animals. But the power of teamwork is put to the test when disaster strikes and threatens the most vulnerable members of their community. Will the different species be able to work together when it counts? And will this dangerous experience unite them for good?
The Annual Forest Games is a heartwarming story about the strength of teamwork under wise leadership and that we each have unique skills that have a role to play in overcoming obstacles together. This beautifully illustrated book will help children understand that we can achieve what seems impossible if we put our disagreements and differences aside and work together toward the same goal.
Characters:
King Leopold: King Leopold is a very old and very wise lion. He organizes the Annual Forest Games every year to celebrate the arrival of spring. But he has a hidden agenda: bringing the forest animals together, by putting aside their differences and working together in the games. In the face of a disaster, will the animals learn the lesson he has been trying to teach them?
The forest animals: The forest animals love the games, and they put aside their natural hostilities for the two weeks and focusing on the competitions. But will they have the teamwork skills to work together in the face of disaster, and bring a lasting peace to the forest?
The baby princess: King Leopold’s baby granddaughter is enjoying watching the games, until she gets caught in the disaster and is helpless to escape! When the clock is ticking, will the other forest animals be able to save her in time?
When we put our differences aside and recognize each other’s strengths, we can work as a team to achieve the impossible!

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Story
Deep beneath the ocean, there is a shimmering palace. Built of coral walls and windows of clearest amber, it is the kingdom of the merpeople. And one of these mermaids you might know well: she is the youngest, and is gifted with the most beautiful voice. Unhappy with her life as a mermaid, she dreams of living on dry land. One day, on her birthday, she ascends to the surface to find a magnificent three-masted ship drifting in calm waters. There, amongst the passengers, she meets the brown-eyed prince.
