Publisher's summary

This a lecture given by Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan z'tl which discusses the question of the age of the Universe according to Torah thought: Is it around 6000 years old or billions? Rabbi Kaplan goes through various approaches to this question, and concludes with a view based on authoritative sources from over 700 years ago, which lead to a very satisfactory answer. Also briefly touching on other interesting topics, this audiobooklet is an important listen for anyone wanting a non-apologetic answer to this question.

I enjoyed the content and have been aware of Rabbi Kaplan’s teachings for many years and have his book “Sefer Yetzirah”

I took two stars off for the narrator’s lack of understanding in how to pronounce Jewish terms.

Done very well with some pronunciation errors.

Very interesting topic. Has great information . Alot of information packed in a short amount of time, worth several playthroughs. Only issue I have seen is some of the prounications the speaker is saying is off ( I am not a Native speaker nor very fluent, just basing it off my religious studies). The two main examples of needing correction are:

Rambam = Rahm Bahm
Gemara = Geh Marah

Also some other words as well. I believe that if the "rough draft audio" was given to a native speaker, I think the errors would have been corrected before the final release.

A great book, but disapointing performance

This short book of Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan (z''l) brings Jewish Theology in line with modern science. Based on traditional source Rabbi Kaplan (z''l) explains the how religious thoughts and understanding of Torah are not in conflict with the findings of modern science.
Having said that I agree with other reviewers that the performance should have been better.

Terrible pronunciation

Please replace the narrator with someone familiar with the Hebrew language. Basic words and references to sacred text and sages were mispronounced every single time. This wouldn't fly with any other language or culture.
