The Reverend Stephen O'Connell, founder of the town's outspoken Lifeblood Coalition, had reasons of his own to want Diana's practice shut down, including her involvement with his troubled teenager. The investigation of the case unleashes a flood of secrets in Duprey's small Colorado town, whose residents must face haunting questions, and the accusations of their own consciences.

Above average mystery

This book was so much more than a mystery. It explored topics such as abortion, Down's syndrome, child pornography, and more. The narrator was a little over the top and annoying at times.. but the story made you forget her after awhile. I am a little upset that the author left a dangling piece of information about semen in the victim unresolved. But, I will think about this book for a long time.

I really enjoyed this audio. A real page turner.

A disappointment

I found this book to be a disappointment. It had an intriguing premise-a mystery about the murder of an abortion doctor. But the characters were incompletely drawn and in the case of the doctor's daughter, intensely dislikable. In addition, many of the scenes in the book were implausible.

It was engaging enough to want to finish to find out what happened--but overall only a fair mystery story.

Great mystery

I loved this book..interesting characters..good mystery. The last hour gets a tiny bit slow, but at that point I was so into the book it didn't matter to me. I had some trepidation about it because of the subject matter..but it really isn't about abortion, it is just a good murder mystery. I wish there were more books available by this author.

Gets off to good start, and then dies.
