Story
This story is dedicated to all the victims of sexual slavery in German concentration camps, who had to endure inhumane suffering under the Nazi regime. For many years after the atrocities had been committed, both sides - the abusers and the abused - still vehemently denied certain aspects of the Holocaust, and even the victims refused to admit the ugly truth about their incarceration, some out of fear, some out of shame, until several women decided to break an unofficial oath of silence, and brought their stories to life. This book is based on one of those stories. Emilia is a young Jewish woman, whose life slowly turns into a nightmare as she finds herself facing a dreadful choice: to secure her family's very existence by offering herself to one of the men who had put her behind the walls with barbed wire, or perish together with the least fortunate ones.

Genevieve Buchanan inherited a castle—and a ghost to go along with it. But Kendrick de Piaget was no typical ghost. He was a handsome and infuriatingly arrogant 13th-century knight. At first, he wanted to frighten Genevieve, though she was more charmed than scared by his ghostly tricks. But when his thoughts turned to wooing her instead, Genevieve had to face her greatest fear: falling in love.

Loved it
Any additional comments?
Amanda Shelton finds herself banned by Prince Paxdon from Telenia’s Summer Palace. This act gives Amanda an idea of how to help Telenia’s oppressed women. With the threat of war increasing and the loss of many soldiers, Prince Paxdon welcomes Amanda back to Telenia. Paxdon allows Amanda to put her idea of teaching the poor women to sew allowing them to earn their own income. Amanda and Prince Paxdon start to form a new relationship/partnership. Can Amanda help to Telenia begin to make changes to improve the economy?
This is the 2nd book but my first in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The only reason I did not listen to this book in one sitting is that I had to sleep and work. This book is a science fiction adventure with a touch of romance and humor. I will definitely read more of this series.
Narrator Steven Barnett is wonderful at bringing the characters to life. He has a great voice and comedic timing. His narration is an added bonus to an already great book.
I was given a copy of this book in hopes I would submit a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
