Suspenseful

Well I didn't see this one coming at all. I even went back and relistened to the last half to see if I missed anything. I love how the Clark family circles the wagons of love, loyalty, and support. They made a safe place for each other. Another amazing adventure. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Secrets, Lies, and Half Truths

Wow, this book has a lot of twist turns and twisted individuals. The characters are strong and well developed. I am so proud that Kelly is finally coming into her own. Adele, the sister, I have no words for that one. I guess what they said is true you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family. The lies and half truths that come out in this book will totally blow your mind. I won't give any spoilers, but this book is a must listen/read. I highly recommend this book. I received this book for free upon my request, but this has no bearing on my honest review.

Donut miss it...

The third book of the Kelly Clark series is donut of a cozy mystery frosted with inter-personal drama and sprinkled with revenge.

I have to admit, I wish I had listened to/read the first 2 books first because there was a lot inter-personal drama going on in this book that I didn't fully understand from the start, but as the story progressed, I was able to catch on. (I recommend you start with book one).

The story starts out with a prison break at the facility where Kelly Clark's ex-husband is serving time. Seeing as how Kelly is the reason he is behind bars, the uncertainty of the situation adds anxiety and fear to her already stressful life.

This book is a captivating addition to The Kelly Clark Mystery Series. Delving deep into the protagonist Kelly's past, the narrative unfolds layers of mystery that kept me hooked till the end. The story seamlessly combines elements of suspense, drama, and intrigue as Kelly's tumultuous past collides with her present. Hansen masterfully portrays the internal conflict Kelly experiences, especially when faced with unsettling revelations about those closest to her. The backdrop of a new donut business juxtaposed with jailbreaks, greed, and revenge adds a unique flavor to this cozy mystery. A definite recommendation for those who love mysteries with a tinge of familial drama and sweet revenge. hahah. great, great book!

Great Mystery

Kelly continues to be tormented by her ex-husband by finding her brother-in-law, Mike borrowed money from her ex. Adele opens a pastry business with Nikki's help. Kelly has to solve another mystery. Amanda Fichter does a great job with the narration.

Suspense, stalking, revenge and family drama!

Take the Donut is the 3rd Kelly Clark mystery by Annie Hansen. In this book, Kelly is in Florida helping her parents after her dad’s health crisis. There is a jailbreak at the prison where Kelly’s ex-husband Steve is incarcerated and he may have escaped. A media circus ensues and recycles her history with Steve and her involvement in his arrest and murder conviction She starts getting threatening notes and is constantly looking over her shoulder. Kelly is a strong woman, and some of her family dump everything on her and she is unfairly blamed for causing stress to the family because of Steve. I found that very frustrating because Kelly didn’t always stick up for herself, but its probably realistic in this family dynamic. I also wish her boyfriend Jack would stop calling her the offensive pet name “temptress”. It’s cringeworthy and not endearing nor flattering to her. A lot of action happens at the end and much is truly unexpected. Kelly’s story is not over and there will be another book (or more). The narration by Amanda Fichter was wonderful. She brought the characters and story to life. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

Another great cozy mystery by Annie Hansen

Take the Donut is the third in the series. I love these books and could not resist getting the audio. The story is so catchy… and wrapped with chocolate. The sisters are well developed and feel so much like real-life siblings. And with an escaped convict on the loose in this mystery, family comes in handy. Love the characters. Easy to follow. The ending gets you ready for what’s to come. Great job, Annie Hansen. Keep your novels coming.

Mysterious threatening notes, frightening events, who is after Kelly and her family/ This kept me listening to the end, holding my breath to find out what was going to happen.

Suspenseful Continuation of this series!

I loved this 3rd book in the Kelly Clark Mystery series better than the last book!  Every time something happened in this book there was another twist in the story and you weren’t sure what would happen next.  I love Kelly’s sisters and parents and her boyfriend Jack.  This is a great story and series that I highly recommend listening to.  Amanda Fichter did a great job on the narration that made the story very enjoyable to listen to.  I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Many twists

This is the 3rd book of the series. There is so many twists. It left you wondering what Kelly and Steve have left with answered questions. Can’t wait to listen to the next installment. It is such a good series!! Highly recommend!
