This part of the story ends on a humongous twist. I really can't wait to get to the next one. Trust me the listener gets invested into the story and you'll want to Binge listen the whole series.

Magic

Book 4 in the Midlife Demons and Demigods series. Each book has been excellent! You can easily pick up the next story from where the previous left off. The author combines paranormal (witches, magic, fae, demons, vampires) with political intrigue of each group, and then add a dash of attractions and human nature. The story is well developed. The characters are unique and interesting. It is a bit fast paced, and I was absorbed from start to finish. I really liked the addition of the good non-violent demons, you just have to love them. I wanted to check out book 5 right away, but was not able to locate it yet. Hopefully it will be on audio soon. Council & Hybrids

Katie Hagaman narrates this installment with so much emotion and nuance. The parts which are full of suspense was well done. I really enjoy the way she performs this series, and so far, book 4 is ramping up the overall plot. I cannot wait for the next one.

Daryn and Shannon Connection Deepens

This series seems to go from strength to strength, and this thrilling instalment continues to blend paranormal intrigue, complex human morality, and supernatural conflict. The author navigates the intricacies of supernatural politics and personal morality, in a story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I love the deepening connection between Daryn and Shannon as she begins to understand what she is meant to do. They're still trying to find the traitor who is helping the demons' cause. But so far things are going from bad to worse and they still have quite a few situations to deal with. It's great seeing how well the team works together.

One of my favourite scenes was listening to the interrogation of the demon, Indigo's humour was definitely a fun part of this fast-paced plot a spellbinding tale of supernatural intrigue and human resilience.

The narration by Katie Hagaman is very well done and added to my enjoyment of the book.

Where to start...Hybrid demons, most powerful witch in history with wonky magic and a war coming. Whew! It's enough to make your head spin! Book 4 is building to a crescendo and I can't wait to see what happens next!! I really hope this series doesn't end!!. Katie Hagaman does a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life!
