Swords clash. Engines roar. The fight is on.

Valerie was born with one foot on the accelerator. Raised in a family of renowned swordsmen, her need for speed sets her apart. But when a tragic murder casts her out of the noble society she’s relied on to protect her, she has to master the way of the sword to fight her way back.

The king is searching for the next knight to sit at the Round Table, but Valerie only wants justice. To get it, she’ll enter his tournament and face road warriors from all over the kingdom.

Her only hope for survival is a brooding swordsman mentor, a blade with no name, and one legendary car.

WOW!

The "Times like these" books were some of the absolute best books I've ever listened to. Nathan has created Gold again. I can't get over how freaking awesome this book is. I had to drive 14 hours to work and I listened to the entire book in one sitting. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Do yourself a favor and buy this book, I promise you won't be disappointed.

He got me again!

TL/DR— amazing! Many thumbs up!! Must read!

First off, I almost never listen to a book I haven’t read.

Second, I wasn’t sure about this. I’m the first to line up for a good alt history. Give me Flint’s 1632 or 1812 universe, I’m cool. Love a good sword story, like The Belgariad. But cars and swords? I didn’t know what to think; I’m a huge fan of Nathan’s time travel books so I couldn’t resist the chance.

First chapter in, I was enthralled. The narrator was the perfect choice for the protagonist. The characters were vivid and compelling. By the end, I’ll admit, the hair stood in my arms a couple times. May have had a watery eye or two. Nathan reeled me into yet another universe and I’m hooked!

Two thumbs up, a must have for your library!!!

Listened to entire book with only a few short breaks

I started out unsure if I liked the book but about a half hour into it I was hooked and listened to the whole thing with only short breaks. My wife is listening to it now and is enjoying it.

Another great plot and characters

Nathan Van Coops is amazing. No doubt my favorite writer. Incredible creative worlds and characters. Sword Fight will not let you down, Van Coops is king of on the edge of your seat adventures. Fantastically written while painting epic pictures in your mind. Narration was good and has a good voice, however was kind of too breathy into the mic and some hard cuts in transitions. The story is so good and I can't wait for the next book. Highly recommend! Give stars!

Fast paced and full of action!

This book was a unique mashup between medieval and modern. High octane and breathtakingly visual. Simply stunning. It’s hilariously witty, heartrending, and emotional. You will cheer out loud and curse just as loudly. It runs full tilt out of the gate and really never slows down.
The friendships and family created between the characters in this book are outstanding, really what I’ve come to expect from this author.
How the mighty fall...and have to claw their way back up from the bottom. Sheer determination and a deep seated need for vengeance makes Val an excellent pupil for Damon to train. But, secrets will come to light and things are not always as they appear. Fast paced, really fantastic read.

This narrator was perfect for this story. she did a great job bringing the book to life!

Swords and cars, yes please

Defining a modern world with Knights honor and swords and duels and revenge and tournaments... It's done exceptionally well. Both the story itself and performance.

Van Coops is an author you must follow.

A tune of dueling swords and car engines

This was a great personal story, blending an unusual partnership composed of dueling swords and roaring car engines. The author opens up by explaining the alternate history which sets up this world. Narrator is top notch and skilled at the many voices she creates. The story is full of action and emotional highs and lows. I will definitely be checking out the next book.

I hope this becomes a movie

I read the book before hearing this and the repeat makes it better. The story is fantastic and the way the details are presented leaves me feeling like I was there. I haven't read/listened to a better new book in the past 5-10 years
