Publisher's summary

The dramatic and heartwarming conclusion to the Isle of Destiny series.

Neala O’Riordan is no stranger to the sweet and spicy things in life, although that’s more to do with running a highly acclaimed bakery in Kilkenny than because of having any semblance of a dating life. In lieu of romantic entanglements, Neala instead pours her love and attention into her rapidly growing business and the in-demand sweets she concocts.

When a distraught man storms into her bakery one morning, Neala’s life is turned upside down. In moments, she’s plunged into a fairy-tale world - and she’s the star of the show. When she learns that the fate of Ireland, if not the entire world, rests on her shoulders, Neala is ready to turn tail and run for the hills - but she’s stopped in her tracks by the storm she sees in the eyes of her handsome protector, Dagda.

With one look, Dagda challenges Neala to stay and fight - to accept her destiny - and to change the course of the future. Unable to resist a challenge, Neala throws caution to the wind and joins an unlikely group of magickal humans and fae alike as she finds herself pulled into the adventure of a lifetime. It’s a race against the clock to end a centuries-old curse, and Neala does her best to keep her heart from falling for the quiet charms of her alluring protector.

Though her battle to resist her attraction to Dagda may be a lost cause, Neala refuses to lose the fight against the dark fae. With the help of friends from Grace’s Cove, Neala holds fast to her belief that - no matter what - love will always light the way against darkness.

Beautifully written, again!

I love how Tricia has beautifully intertwined the last 4th book of this series into her other 2 different series, ‘Mystic Cove Series’ & ‘Siren Island Series.’ The Narrating is perfect especially keeping the same reader.
Each of her stories take you out of every day world life into a world of fantasy, fun, romance, family with in friends, strength in women, strong masculine men and suspense with throw in phrases to inspire oneself or encourage you to believe more in you.
I’ve actually been to Ireland a couple of times and traveled along the West, from South to North, you describe it exactly as I remember it. I would love to be one of the characters living there now. I actually looked for Gracie Cove, never found it ☺️🥺
Look forward to many more audio books Tricia.

Fun adventure but seems YA

This was a good completion of a fun adventure series. Overall, the mythology aspects were captivating and the author did a great job of describing the landscape. My only complaint (with the whole series) is that when you read or listen to them back to back, it gets a little repetitive. The whole protector falls for seeker spiel follows the same pattern in all the books (except Spear Song) with very small differences in how the characters react to situations.
The style of writing comes off as a little immature and as though it's intended for a YA audience (an American one at that). The characters could have really used more development and the stories more depth. Also generally not a fan of insta-love, so its a bit difficult to believe the heroines fall like that within a matter of days. It needed more meaningful conversations to make it convincing.
Having Bianca and Seamus as supporting characters throughout the series was a great bonus, they added lightness, humour and some consistency and made the ending perfect.

A Predictably Sweet Ending

I struggled to finish this series, but once I commit to something I am compelled to see it through. The last two books were better than the first two, so there was some reward, but they were very predictable. None of the battles felt fully fleshed out and the continuous capturing of the group while the seeker battles alone grew weary. The heroines and their protectors were at least more likable in the last two books. I really struggle with this narrator. Her male voices lean towards whiny and dull. Overall, for a lazy listen the series was ok.
