Publisher's summary

After a betrayal at work costs Song Kuan her job, she retreats to her friend Lucy’s idyllic family cabin on a lake in Minnesota to lick her wounds. She devotes herself to recording Ice Cold Cases, a true-crime podcast that she and Lucy cohost with the gleeful energy of obsessed fans—until an anonymous tip about a missing-person case disrupts their equilibrium. Then Lucy disappears, leaving Song alone in an unfriendly and unfamiliar town where locals don’t take kindly to strangers asking questions.

Twisty, unpredictable, and sonically adventurous, Song of the Northwoods will keep you guessing until the final showdown.

An enjoyable short story

I really liked that this was a short, quick story to relax for a while. Overall the plot was interesting enough to keep going. Some annoying talking here and there; too much high school girlish talking, sudden decline in volume, etc. The character development wasn’t very good, and two girls sounded rather stupid or impulsive, perhaps that was the author’s intention.

Well performed

It’s an interesting concept. The story itself didn’t blow me away, but the performances definitely lifted it to the next level.

So unique!

Reallyyyy enjoyed this program and I LOVE the characters. It was refreshing to have such realistic dynamics between people - not everyone we know wants the best for us. 10/10 I recommend.

Interesting and unique approach

Enjoyed the authors perspective and excellent actors. Also like the short length. Tough to follow at times between edits and similarities of actresses voices. Do recommend!
