Publisher's summary
Born the eldest son of a poor fisherman on the Isle of Lewis in the windswept northwest of Scotland, he grew up in a stone cottage with a thatched roof that didn’t blow away in the frequent gales only because it was held down by a net of hemp ropes weighted at the ends by stones. As a boy he taught himself to read and write by using the only book his parents owned, a Bible, which he then memorized. When he left home he told his mother not to worry over him saying, “I’ll be a professor at university” and in five years he was.
When Sherlock Holmes first met Professor Findley the older man scolded the great detective for not using distilled water in his chemical experiments, calling it “slipshod work.” Then he quoted one of Holmes’ earliest monographs, en toto, on bicycle treads and used it as proof for the existence of a higher power. Now an old man, the Oxford Don of whom Holmes once said, “he understands,” has vanished.
The only clue is a half-finished sentence on a chalk board. What has happened to the esteemed professor and can Sherlock Holmes find him? Once again, the game is afoot but this time Holmes and Watson don’t even know where to start.

Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

Sherlock Holmes’s discovery of a mysterious musical score initiates a devious Christmas challenge set by Irene Adler, with clues that are all variations on the theme of “theft without theft”, such as a statue missing from a museum found hidden in the room it was taken from. In the snowy London lead-up to Christmas, Holmes’s preoccupation with the “Adler Variations” risks him neglecting the case of his new client, Norwegian arctic explorer Fridtjof Nansen, who has received a series of threats in the form of animal carcasses left on his doorstep.

Virtual Voice is not very good
It is hard to tell if the story was good or not because the virtual voice was just horrible. While it says every word correctly, the inflection and nuance of language still has a long way to go.
