Degenhardt, der mit seinen Liedern die "Schreckenskammer der deutschen Provinz" beschreibt, wird zu seinem Komplizen, der besingt, was Andreas Rebers in seiner Kindheit im "Kleinen Kaukasus", in seiner Heimat und in seiner Familie, erlebt. Die Prügel, die Kriegsversehrten, alle waren gekennzeichnet durch den Krieg und die Nazizeit. "Der Spuk war nie vorbei. Jedem fehlte irgend etwas und irgendwann habe ich begriffen, vielen fehlte die Einsicht.", sagt Rebers. Das war vor fünfzig Jahren und es wird Zeit, sich dieser Zeit wieder anzunehmen.
