Publisher's summary

Ethan's been avoiding his stepsister since their parents got married, but when she shows up at his apartment uninvited, he realizes her absence has only made his heart grow fonder....

Jenny: I always liked him. But when our parents got married, things got confused. As if being a teenager isn't confusing enough. All I knew was that the feelings I had for him weren't okay.

I’ll never forget the anxiety I felt the night I ran into him at a party that had gotten out of control. I saw him standing around with the popular kids as soon as I walked in the door. And he saw me, too. He always saw me. It was talking to me that he avoided.

I watched his buddy spin an empty wine bottle on the butcher block, while my friend Brandi rummaged in her oversized purse for the two bottles of hard lemonade her older sister gave us. When the spinning bottle stopped, I realized everyone was staring at me.

“Looks like you’ve gotta kiss Jen,” some jock said to Ethan.

I felt the color drain from my face, taking the moisture in my mouth with it as a suffocating panic grew in my chest. I was going to be found out.

Ethan laughed it off. “Yeah, that’s not happening. She’s my sister.”

“Not really, though,” his buddy insisted.

The eruption of laughter and jeering sounds made the dim kitchen feel like a jungle full of predators, and I was sure my cheeks were going to burst into flames.

“Don’t be stupid,” Ethan said, tilting a can of beer over his mouth.

When his friend spun the bottle again, Ethan glanced back at me one more time and wiped the back of his hand across his lips.

I’ve been wondering what it would be like to kiss him ever since.

Author's note: This is a full-length stand-alone romance novel with no cliff-hanger and no cheating. It is intended for a mature audience and has an ending that will leave you smiling so hard it hurts.

Way past my expectations.

In this case I do believe that 2 heads are better than one. It was hot, steaming, compassionate, and well written. A must read.

Taboo love kinda

Ethan has always had a thing for his step sister and secretly protects her before being shipped off to bordering school. Years later when Jenny arrives at Ethan’s apartment unannounced is when this book really begins. Loved this book and listened to the audiobook which was well cast with two new to me narrators. Both who handled both POVs very well. I enjoyed this audiobook and wish to check out more from CJ and Meg as well as more books by Hazel Kelly.

So happy this was the choice for the book of the month in our book club. Well worth the credit spent.

This has to be one of the sweetest

This is certainly one of the sweeter step brother stories. The parents were expecting it, they didn't really have a blow up, the small morning after one that was resolved rather quickly. I was waiting for something bigger to happen but it never did. Stories with not much drama are great every now and then. Good to cleanse the emotional palette.

Total surprise! Hilarious, hot as hell, and just a must have in your library. Their trip to the party had me rolling.

Male narrator ....

Nice story for this genre. Male narrator... ugh...he emphasizes the words in the sentence in an irritatingly strange way. ...

Roommates

First of all I will have to admit I've previously read this book when it was first released. The dual narrative of the audio just makes a fabulous book just that more over the top. I'm a huge fan of Hazel Kelly and I've read all her books, this one is in my top 10. I cannot wait for more of her books to make it to audio.
Ethan has more than step-sibiling feelings for Jenny even before their parents were married, unknown to him Jenny also had feelings for him. They did not grow up together in the same household though, and once they became adults and were under the same roof neither of them can hold their feelings back. The passion is hot, and their storyline is excellent!

Roommates

This book turned out to be better than expected. I liked the storyline and how they resolved issues the story could have gone so much worse but I am glad the way everything worked out.

Lacking a climax

The story is good but there was no climax. There was no fight for their love. No triumph. Just a tiny bit of back and forth in their own head about if it was wrong for them to like each other. No on had to win the other. It was all easy. The story has great potential.
