Publisher's summary

Ty has always known that the ocean is a dangerous place. Every time he swims beyond the borders of his family's subsea farm, he's prepared to face all manner of aquatic predators - sharks, squid, killer whales.

What Ty isn't prepared to find in the deep is an entire township chained to a sunken submarine, its inhabitants condemned to an icy underwater grave. It's only the first clue to a mystery that has claimed hundreds of lives and stands to claim two more - lives very precious to Ty and his Topsider ally, Gemma. Now, in a desperate race against the clock, Ty and Gemma find themselves in conflict with outlaws, Seaguard officers, and the savage, trident-wielding surfs - plus a menagerie of the most deadly creatures the ocean has to offer.

Kat Falls brings to life the mysteries, marvels, and monsters of the deep in this fast-paced and inventive action-adventure.

Wonderful Family Thriller

What did you love best about Rip Tide?

It was appealing to the entire family age 10-43!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

We listened as a family on car trip. So yes.

Any additional comments?

"How much longer" got replaced by "Start the book back or don't stop". It was great! The adults enjoyed it as well as the kids!

entertaining YA escapism

Great follow up to Dark Life (imo superior). Not the best book I've ever read, but very entertaining, well paced, and well-voiced.

it lived up to the frist easily. wish you continued it since you developed an entire world and it seems you only touched one percent of it. not to mention you could do a whole book on just the gang

Loved every minute of it

Another great book by Kat Falls. Rip Tide started out running and never slowed down. I loved Dark Life and this sequel did not disappoint. Keith Nobbs is an excellent narrator. He actually sounds like the 15 year old main character. I like that he can read all the different characters without having to make weird voices. Some male narrators cannot do girl voices. Nobbs didn't try to do a girl's voice for Jemma, thank goodness. He just read the part and it sounded right. I suspect there will be a third book in the series. I'm looking forward to it.

Sci Fi at its finest!

Where does Rip Tide rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favorite brain candy books so far! I was so excited to find out that the first book had a sequel that I got it right away! I enjoyed the surprising twists in the storyline and was excited to see what the author had in store for these characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rip Tide?

I loved how the tables turned for one of the main character's and her brother!

Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed watching Jemma return to the ocean unafraid. The fact that she develops senses is exciting to watch.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I really liked it. I couldn't stop listening.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this series. It's a fast and fun read! If you like sci-fi, you will love it!

Best story I’ve heard in a long time

Oh my heck! I loved it! This is without a doubt one of the best stories I’ve heard in a very long time! The story line was quick pace and thrilling at about every moment. The characters were well developed and there was punch of teen romance. Normally I’m not that into romance but it was very well done in this book! They should definitely make a movie off of this, no doubt everyone would love it! :3

Simple, Good Story

This is a nice "who done it" with a touch of teenage romance. I liked it but I am not in LOVE with. It's good but not great.
