Publisher's summary

Much like accountants, fey never forget a debt.

Just as Fred is settling down in his new abode, he receives word that a favor is being called in, one he promised to a dangerously powerful member of otherworldly royalty. Bracing danger, adventure, and unknown threats, Fred is instead asked to take on an entirely different role than anticipated.

Acting as interim professor at one of the few universities for supernatural entities, Fred will have to navigate a strange environment, eccentric coworkers, and unenthusiastic students. Yet that alone won't be enough, for this college has more history than the tales in its tomes.

Remnants of the past that could put Fred, and his students, in mortal peril.

Fun, funny and charming

Love this series and their anti-hero, heroic adventures. Dry wit and sweater vests to the rescue.

I am waiting for the let down.

so far, I have enjoyed every book in this series and the NPCs series. I seem to start each book expecting a disappointment, only to be pulled into Drew's theatric writing style. I like the spin on the old tropes without the emo versions that seem to be popular to write these days.

OK, there is some emo with the heroes or what I would think of as overly emotional, but in general, I enjoy the characters and would suggest it to anyone that wanted the fantasy monsters interacting with our world.

Fred Never Fails to Be Worth the Listen

This story was a bit different in that we didn't have as much time with the growing and beloved cast of those that have gathered around Fred and the story felt a bit more serious. The storyline was true to Fred and served as a growing lesson for him which I always enjoy. I feel in love with Fred's story from the first book and this book was another great addition with some new friends gathered along the way. Kirby Heyborn gives another excellent performance as well!

Really good but not great

I enjoyed this installation but I don't think it was as good as others in the series, mostly because it felt rushed. Maybe Hayes was pressed for a deadline? I don't know but so much more could be been done here that just wasn't. That said, it was still a very well-written story, I still love this series a dam looking forward to the next one, and Heyborne did another fantastic job narrating.

Wish there was more

Enjoyable as always. I wish the author had have stayed a while on the classroom dynamic and school world before diving off on an adventure.

Fun, light, with just the right touch of dark

I’ve enjoyed each and every one of these stories. Frederick Frankfort Fletcher and his sweater vests are a delight.
