Rodolfo Walsh, geboren 1927 in Choele-Choel, Argentinien, war Schriftsteller, Journalist, Übersetzer, Herausgeber und Mitbegründer der kubanischen Presseagentur "Prensa Latina". Im März 1977 schrieb er seinen berühmten "Offenen Brief an die Militärjunta", eine Anklage gegen die Militärdiktatur, die seit 1976 in Argentinien herrschte. Nur wenige Tage später wurde er in Buenos Aires vom Militär erschossen. Auf Deutsch sind zwei seiner Krimiromane erschienen: "Operación Masacre" (1983) und "Wer erschoss Rosendo G.?" (1993).
