Publisher's summary

Born under a hunter's moon, abandoned as a child, I was raised to be a powerful sorceress - okay, a mediocre sorceress. All right, I'm good at glamour and can make things sparkle, if my spells don't backfire. It was foretold long ago that I was a child of prophecy that would unite the fae and humans of Candor. The only problem, no one told me, and now the king wants me dead.

For I am Eden, one of the adoptive daughters of Lady Eville, and I have to attend the royal masquerade ball - not to win a prince, but to avenge my parents. Even if it means pretending to be a fairy godmother and wreaking a little havoc.

I wanted more…

First, loved the narrator. She did well keeping up with all the voices and keeping it consistent.

As for the story… I really loved the take on the classic, but I wanted more. I didn’t believe she was falling or even showing a high level respect for the prince like I feel like she should have. I feel like it would have been a much stronger story if she did. That said, I still enjoyed it a lot. I love the two leads and the story as a whole.

Can’t wait to go binge the next one.

Cinderella meets Bachelor

Enjoyed the story with twists and turns. The small nods to the Disney princess original story were fun. But I found the main character to be too whiney during certain parts. I don’t like how during these insecure bouts the performer chose to read narrative in the same whiney voice. Made me want to skip it.

interesting approach on fairytale retelling

I enjoyed this book a lot. it's a Cinderella fairy tale but I honestly was guessing until the end which one was Cinderella. I never enjoy people that keep saying how negative about themselves they are and it does do that a bit otherwise overall great concept and execution.

Cute, sweet and palate refresher

A second look in the series is sweet, cute. It is everything that you need in a feel good love story that has magic, backstabbing, mystery just overall good story.

Like all stories, there’s a few things that are going to rub somebody the wrong way or it’s gonna not tickle your fancy in every way known to man.
But so far, it’s a good series that hits all the good things. And they’re interconnecting stories but also their own. So you’re not gonna get burnt out on them

Great characters and great voice narrative.

I loved the storyline and Fae descriptives. It moved along nicely and the voice over narrative with all characters was great. If you like fantasy, the Fae, Cinderella type storyline then you will like this.

I keep getting suprised

I really enjoyed this twist on Cinderella. There were a lot of comical moments, some romance and plot twists. The narrator also has different voices for the characters which is something that I really enjoy having. Even every narrator makes different voices

This Narrator is PERFECT for this world!

Here's the thing- i hate Cinderella. And if you asked me if I'd ever willing read a Cinderella retelling- i would say no.
however, this retelling is absolutely wonderful. this author has a way of doing an almost tongue-in-cheek retelling of classic stories by using the bones of the original tale but rearranging them in a way that's almost entirely different. i can't get enough!
