Publisher's summary

Who do you trust when simply everyone is wearing a mask?

A winter wedding. Venice, 1923. Posie Parker, London’s premier female private detective, is getting married. But on arrival in Venice, Posie finds she is walking into a nightmare. Her lodgings on the Grand Canal are consumed by fire, her famous fiancé is preoccupied, and most bizarrely of all, her hostess, the Countess Romagnoli, confesses she has a stalker and fears for her life.

Tasked with protecting the countess, Posie investigates the other house guests and finds that there are disguises everywhere. And when a terrible murder is committed, with the prospect of the killer striking yet again, Posie realizes she must separate out the shadows of the past and the realities of the present in order to uncover the murderer before it is too late.

In her most dangerous case yet, Posie works alongside both familiar and new colleagues in order to get at the truth. But will the truth come at a terrible price?

This is a classic golden age of crime murder mystery which will appeal to fans of Agatha Christie and Downton Abbey. Murder in Venice is the sixth book in the Posie Parker Mystery Series, although the novel can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. If you love an action-packed 1920s historical cozy crime with a feisty protagonist, get the audiobook now.

Many twists and turns

You really need to pay attention because the ending isn't something you can determine easily if at all. Narration is top notch and I am enjoying the series.

It’s okay.

The story was okay even though it all had be explained at the end to make it understandable.

Gripping Cosy

“Murder in Venice” is the best book of Hathaway’s series to date but I question referring to it as a cosy. Usually cosies do not rely upon the level of tension that is the backbone of this book. Additionally, cosies generally put a bow on the story at the end so that the reader is looking forward to further adventures but not left hanging. Hathaway has done a terrific job hiding almost everything in plain sight. I only wish the next book in the series was ready now.

Not what I expected

Gut wrenching twists and turns. A lesson in communication and pride. How convoluted our lives can be and just how important trust is. Definitely did not expect this to be so emotional.

The Best Yet

Couldn't stop listening to this book. It's the best of the series so far. Easy to follow, but difficult to see exactly where the story was leading. Can't wait for the next audio book in the series.

Struggled to get through

This book was terrible- it pulled together threads from the earlier books, ones that were annoying but could be ignored so the only parts of the book were annoying ones- her relationships, her basic incompetence- I am sorry I purchased it.
