About this listen

Welcome to the astounding world of Predator Cities!

Emerging from its hiding place in the hills, the great Traction City is chasing a terrified little town across the wastelands. Soon, London will feed.

In the attack, Tom Natsworthy is flung from the speeding city with a murderous scar-faced girl. They must run for their lives through the wreckage - and face a terrifying new weapon that threatens the future of the world.

The story was ok. I ended up having no emotional connection with any of the main characters. I did eventually come to like some of the ancillary guildspersons.

Not a horrible listen, but not great.

Fotm fantasy series that reads through like a young adult fiction. It is an interseting idea, and the world building was good. However, I found the main characters to be whiney and unlikable; yes, even Hestor.

welp

I was drawn to this series after the film, and delightfully surprised to be excited about a youth series - well developed characters, cool idea about a post apocalyptic world, and look forward to more.

If it wasn't for the movie I'm not sure I would have found this story line. I normally listen to forgotten realms and have cleared the ender game books, still waiting for them to finish formic wars. Feel story was very well written and narroator was great and very pleasant to listen to. Would recommend this to any steampunk fantasy fan.

Drawn in by steampunk aspect, great story.

Wow. There are A LOT of plot twists in this book. Basically, take NONE of the characters at face value.

A pretty good read

Great book and a great open to the series, what an engaging world Philip Reeve has created. I recommend it to anyone looking to escape the typical fictions of the day.

Great listen

There are few books I get sucked into but I'm glad I found this one.

I really enjoyed it!

Not at all what I expected, but really good and interesting. Kinda feels like Mad Max meets Treasure Planet for young adults. It's an interesting concept. I'm very interested to see how the upcoming Peter Jackson film adaptation turns out (honestly, I decided to read this book after seeing the teaser trailer at the theatre...). Worth checking out for fans of dystopian futuristicky literature.

Mad Max + Treasure Planet = Mortal Engines

Loved the narrator's accents and the author's perspective of morality and selflessness regarding human suffering.

Shocking and Fantastic. Easy Listen.
