A great ghost Mystery you cannot put down!

Should be a classic ghost thriller. This is one of Hart's best books. I highly recommend it to those who love scary ghost stories.

Slow to start..

But picks up around chapter three. A bit more horror than I usually like but the was a great ghost story! One that mingles history with resolution, the way all good ghost stories should be.

Get past the prologue you wont be sorry

My husband and I listened to this book on our way home from vacation, both of us were so engrossed we barely talked for the 12 hours it played. The prologue is a little weird but it does make sense latter in the book. The book was very chilling. I am glad we listened to this on a long trip instead of a few hours at a time. It made the miles seem to pass faster as well. Neil Hellegers did an amazing job with the narration of this story. He fully kept us engrossed and made the story come alive.

Meh

Pretty tired, formulaic and devoid of surprise. Not terrible, but mostly forgettable. The narrator gave it all he had and nailed it.

Story and narration were

A treat! I wasn’t expecting to love the story and characters as I did! It’s not as dark and twisted as I normally like but It’s a dark story with gore, torture, and love. My only complaint is the actual audiobook kicked me out at chapter 11 and restarted several times. But was a credit well spent,

Cheesy but not bad

The story is ok. A little over the top in places but it keeps your interest. My real objection is with the reading. Why is ever line said like a threat against the listener. Even during the slower, simple story building, sections every sentence is read with such a deep seriousness that when the punchline comes you're already exhausted.

This is a ride

I had very little hope for this book, but decided to give it a shot and man am I glad I did.

Vivid writing

Hart does such an amazing job with the writing that it feels immersive. So for readers easily triggered by details of domestic and child abuse, the first few chapters may be difficult for you. It felt a little long, but it was still a good story and the narration was excellent.

Suspenseful !! I really enjoyed this one!

Once you get past the narrators way of short quick speaking the story itself draws you in. This one kept me guessing trying to figure out how each character will play a roll in the end. I like that you really get to know the characters and you care what happens to them. Very suspenseful! I was hooked all the way through.

Great book!

This book kept my attention the entire time. At first, it was hard to see where it was going, but everything came together and it wasn't at all obvious. The story was well written and creepy, in a good way. The narrator did a very good job and I found his tone very easy to follow. I truly recommend this one! It's a great ghost story that will keep you wanting more.
