Publisher's summary

No books. No long lists of vocabulary. No chance of failure.

Welcome to Learn with Paul Noble—a tried-and-tested language-learning method that has been used by over one million people to speak fluently and confidently.

With Paul Noble’s simple, relaxed approach, you will learn in a way that suits you—without having to memorise long lists of words you won’t use; scribbling notes as you listen; or feeling frustrated. Instead, Paul will introduce you to the basics of Japanese and guide you through over 15 hours of everyday scenarios—from simple situations like asking for directions and eating out to talking about yourself and how to master the different tenses—that are practical, fun and applicable. Just listen, interact and learn wherever you are.

Whatever your experience with languages, whether you’re an absolute beginner or someone with basic knowledge who wants to improve their ability, this is the course to get you speaking Japanese quickly and confidently.

A native Japanese expert will help you to perfect your pronunciation as you progress through the course. You will learn a huge range of vocabulary in no time at all, and be able to quickly make your new knowledge work for you in a variety of everyday scenarios. A downloadable booklet is also included to use as a reference and revision tool.

Paul Noble left school unable to speak a language—having found that the traditional learning methods left him feeling ‘confused, incapable and unable to really say anything’. Determined that there must be a better way to learn, Paul spent years devising his own unique method of learning languages which cuts out all the grammar, all the memorisation and all the stress. He began using his method to teach in his Language Institute and, thousands of students later, he prides himself on never having had a student fail.

This download contains the entire course—Parts 1, 2 and 3. To continue your language-learning journey once you’ve completed this course, download Next Steps in Japanese with Paul Noble for Intermediate Learners—Complete Course.

I’m still very much a beginner although even with that I was able to start speaking quickly and if I didn’t understand something then I could read the pdf while listing everything is clearly spoken with a very good explanation too I really do suggest this for anyone but more so for peoples starting their journey or brushing up

Great series!!

Very effective learning method, and easy to keep going and finish. I only had to look up some pronunciations to make sure I was saying it right but over all love this series and definitely getting Next Steps!

Great for beginners

I tried a few audiobooks out and they were hard to keep track of what was going on. I'd just be bombarded with rapid-fire sentences that I did not understand.
Paul Noble dissects sentences and even tells you why some words need to go in specific areas of the sentence and where there is flexibility.
Slowly building up sentences and vocabulary has given me the confidence to start creating my own sentences.

A MUST HAVE FOR BEGINNERS ! !

I've been studying phrases and vocabulary off and on for years but decided to get serious as I have a definite travel date set for Japan in the next year. I once thought I might be able to exchange simple greetings and ask simple questions if I was lucky enough to be able to recall enough vocabulary and grammar. After a couple hours with this book, I'm 100 % confident that I'll be able to have simple conversations, understand what's being said and respond in a reasonably correct manner. Paul Noble has simplified a language that I long believed was much too complicaated for me to master. I felt such an incredible sense of accomplishment after getting through a couple hours and actually HAD FUN while I was doing it. It's absolutely amazing what a competent teacher can do. I highly recommend this book, look forward to working through it and moving on to more advanced studies.

Ease of learning

Make no mistake you WILL learn what he's teaching. I don't think there is any way you cannot. it's designed and structured in such a way that makes it almost impossibility to not learn. As a result I now have an arsenal of worlds and sentences ready to go, with the correct tenses, sounds and placement. The reason why I gave it 4 out of 5 instead of 5 it's because a lot of the things he teaches you seem superfluous. like certain situation that a tourist will never find him/herself in while visiting Japan. I wish he'd replaced those items with things such as "what time is it?", "nice to meet you.", "where is this or that." and so on. Those should be basic things I expected to see but that unfortunately weren't there. Additionally, the numbers at the end felt like an after thought. granted, you can go back and play those few chapters again and again until you've got them memorized, but that's not his method and so it threw me off. That being said, I'd reccomend this course to anyone who's learning Japanese. his method just works. On to the next steps.

Great starting point

Would be nice to get a pdf file to follow along. I think it would help with sentence structure.
