Publisher's summary

The new novel in Craig Johnson's beloved New York Times best-selling Longmire series.

Attempting to recover from his harrowing experiences in Mexico, in Land of Wolves Wyoming Sheriff Walt Longmire is neck deep in the investigation of what could or could not be the suicidal hanging of a shepherd. With unsettling connections to a Basque family with a reputation for removing the legs of Absaroka County sheriffs, matters become even more complicated with the appearance of an oversize wolf in the Big Horn Mountains to which Walt finds himself feeling more and more empathetic.

an older, haunted Walt

I must say, Walt Longmire is one of my favorite characters. I liked this story because it brought me back to when the author's books were a little calmer and I could pay more attention to the surroundings, the plot and to Walt going in and out of his wannna-be Indian stages. I really liked this book. Could have done without the blue-eyed Indian girl, she was one character more than we needed. plus, I wanted to slap her half the time. but that's okay. We want to let slap a lot of people in life. Don't get this book for high-flying Action, get it to enjoy a reflective man in his older years coming to terms with his life.

A very good listen

Johnson has returned to a pleasant slow thoughtful pace with plenty of time for reflection. Classic Longmire! I hope there are many more like this.

Always Very Entertaining

Well written and narrated. George Guidall is Walt Longmire. I cannot imagine anyone else narrating these books. There are enough twists and turns in the plot, that I am never really sure how the story will end. And the suttle humor is always very entertaining.

Made it last as long as possible.

Everything in my world stops when I escape for awhile to Walt Longmire’s World. Thank you Mr. Johnson and Mr. Guidall.

Old Walt

It was nice to get back to Wyoming and the old Walter. Great book and the best
narrator in the business.

Treading Water

Waiting for the next installment following this placeholder in the series. Seems like the author is having trouble hitting stride again after the apocalyptic showdown in Mexico.

Great drama mixed with humor

One of the most entertaining of Longmire. Guidel is outstanding and makes the story come alive.

Love the narrator

Narrator has perfect pitch, the quintessential cowboy voice. I will listen to any and oevery book he reads.
