For example, if you have ever watched your grandmother cook, then watch how she ties her apron strings. The different types of knots that you can learn to tie will be based on what type of fishing, boating or camping they participated in. For example you might see your grandparents tie a square knot which is used to make a square cord and can also be used to tie shoelaces and belts together.
Many people have heard the term "knot", but may not know exactly what it is. A knot or tie is a simple thing that was made by tying a cord or string around two other objects in a certain way, so when you pull on this cord or string it will not come undone. The exact type of knot that you will need depends on what you are going to use the knot for since they all have different uses.
