Publisher's summary

What part of the Second Amendment don’t you understand?

That’s the question posed by award-winning, bestselling author, and professional firearms instructor Larry Correia.

Bringing with him the practical experience that comes from having owned a high-end gun store—catering largely to law enforcement—and as a competitive shooter and self-defense trainer, Correia blasts apart the emotion-laden, logic-free rhetoric of the gun-control fanatics who turn every "mass shooting" into a crazed call for violating your rights, abusing the Constitution—and doing absolutely nothing to really fight crime.

In his essential new audiobook, In Defense of the Second Amendment, Correia reveals:

  • Why "gun-free" zones are more dangerous for law-abiding citizens,
  • How the Second Amendment does indeed include your right to own an AR-15—and why that’s not an "outdated" concept,
  • Why "red flag" laws don’t work, can be easily abused, and ignore a much more commonsensical approach to keeping guns out of the wrong hands,
  • The insanity of "criminal justice reform" that frees dangerous criminals and "gun reform" that penalizes your right to self-defense, and
  • How we can return to a society that has a safe and healthy relationship with guns—as we had for most of our history.

Correia’s promise: "Believe me, I’ve heard every argument relating to gun control possible. I can show you how to defend your rights."

Urgent, informed, with vitally important information for whoever who owns a gun or is thinking about owning a gun or who cares about the preservation of our constitutional rights, In Defense of the Second Amendment is a landmark book of enduring importance.

Larry lays it out in clear unambiguous terms

I’m thinking of 3 groups in relation to this book:
1. Pro gun rights people: Larry is your guy and lays out the current state of the battle for rights, all the objections and answers to the antis.
2. Anti gun right people: Larry’s confrontational tone and scorn of you will probably turn you off and make you hate this book.
3. Undecided or unknowledgeable people: this book is a treasure trove of info about concealed carry, home defense, but particularly about the battle for your gun rights and the unceasing war against your right to self defense, self determination and the ability to resist a tyrannical government.

Amazing Book of Truth

This book is the truth from beginning to end. Well written, with a great narrator, it debunks the lies that ant-gunners tell. It provides many ways in which the reader can become more involved in the fight for gun rights. Well done!

Straightforward and Interesting

A straightforward and succinct collection of the arguments for the 2nd Amendment and against gun control.

John McLain does a great job of bringing out the voice of Larry Correia.

A well-organized and entertaining summary

For those of us who have been "in it" for about as long as Larry, there's not much new or groundbreaking information in this book. What it does bring to the table, and does well, is in organizing and presenting that information. This book is especially valuable for talking with or presenting to those who have not developed any particularly strong feelings one way or the other. Larry presents his information, from decades of personal research (He was arguing about this stuff online before anyone knew who he was as a fiction author!) and the depth of his knowledge shows through. McLain's narration is even and easy to listen to. He did a great job presenting this book in a way that is never tiresome or difficult to listen to.

I would have written this book, if I had talent.

Anyone that has been an American gun owner for any length of time will recognize at least some of the issues Correia covers here. People like me, who have practically been living in hiding in California, will nod their head at every line. Correia pulls no punches and lays out the anti-gun culture war in very clear terms. He draws from well respected sources along with his own experience as an FFL and a firearms instructor. I do not know if any anti-gunner will ever be converted by this book as they will likely rage quit before the end of the well-written forward. For those who want to have a better understanding of the issue, but are not legal nerds, this is a great, and entertaining read.

Needs to be required reading

I have taken a study of this book. It is packed with information having lived in a blue state, most of my life this book has made me realize impact of the culture or lack there of in this state has had on my thinking. Learning opportunity is on every page correction of use knowledge cleaning up all the problems created by the media when viewing a controversial topic with reason, it absolutely needs to be taught to everyone. I wish I look like this existed for every piece of the constitution.

Easily relatable explanation of why 2A is valid

The way Larry presents the second amendment with modern examples and clear and concise explanation of how it can be manipulated is a gift. I recommend this book for anyone considering owning a firearm and why it is important.
