Interesting addition to the series

I liked the characters. The story line was engaging. It was good to revisit the people of the Grand Palace on the Thames.

My fav of the series and that’s saying a lot

I smiled, I laughed, I loved it. First, the narrator is amazing. The use of her different voices is fantastic. The story itself was so descriptive and Hugh was brilliant in his wit and tongue.

Lovely story, fast pace, entertaining characters

Continue to be grateful to have found Julie Ann Long, a new author for me. What a talent she has for telling a great story and for developing such fine and likeable characters. This book is my favorite in this series. Justine Eyre did a fine job with the American accents. That is not always the case....thank you, JE.

Not my cup of tea

I didn’t really care for Hugh as a hero. Most reviewers who don’t like this story don’t like it because of Lillias, whereas I thought Hugh was condescending and too full of himself, like he was God’s gift to women, and Lillias, “little girl” that she was, should appreciate that “more” about him, Lillias, I could sympathize with, and I thought she was a stronger character than behemoth Hugh. Hugh was just too much of a beast for me, especially at the end when he sends Lillias away because “we don’t love each other”. I did enjoy the epilogue though, and good for Uncle Liam.
