I can not stress this enough! This is an extremely Dark Romance!
I am at a loss for words. This is the 2nd book in the Cat and Mouse Duet. Zade and Addie are my favorite couple!
As you should know after book one Adeline(The Diamond) has been kidnapped by the people Zade has made a career shutting down.
I have never had a issue with triggers before. But this book pushed those boundaries with the realistic and incredibly traumatic abuse Addie goes through from the human traffickers that have kidnapped her..... The hunt 😳 and so much more.
But you know Addie,she is strong! And Zade would never give up till he found her and everyone involvedis dead!

This was a hard read. BUT SO GOOD 😊
I had a hard time getting through the first part. the trauma and abuse Addie goes through made me sick to my stomach. I don't get triggered by books but I just felt for her so deeply. but to see her rise, train, and heal was amazing. and the sweet revenge was awesome too.
this story was seamless, well written, and a hard truth people face today. My ultimate respect goes out to the author for her tenacity with these books. not many have the balls to put something like this out ❤️

Conclusion to HA duet
The conclusion to the HA duet, I felt this one was just a smidge too long BUT overall what a fantastic duet.
Teddy Hamilton can narrate a grocery list to me for all kinds of care 🤣

Don’t read before bed!
Ok! So the first book I am like this isn’t scary at all. Girl lives in creepy haunted house, has a stalker, and trying to solve a murder. Stalker helps take down sex traffickers…low on the scary scale…Book 2 not so much scary but could be triggering. Little mouse gets taken bad things happen but Z does find her leaving a path of destruction along the way! Does have an HEA, or as close as one can get after sex trafficking.
H.D. Carlton seriously is an amazing writer. You felt the emotions of the characters in the writing.
Teddy Hamilton and Michelle Sparks did an amazing job narrating. I’ll listen to Teddy Hamilton all day! This was my first Michelle Sparks narrative and can’t wait for the next one!

Lord help me
Amazing second part but lord the things this girl went through in the first half! I felt horrible just reading it. But I love that we got a realistic description of her recovery. I love that it wasn’t just “oh, she’s better after 1 day!” No it took awhile for her to even think about recovering and by the end she still isn’t but she’s working on it.

Omg, even as this book was never a type of book I would read I took a chance and read it. I was captivated by it and fell in love with the characters. I was definitely all in and found myself wanting more. The author amazing in her writing. Looking forward to reading more.

Wow
I absolutely loved this book!! The narrators did a spectacular job making me feel like I was right there in the story. I could honestly listen to another 15 hours of the stories following the supporting characters. Excellent writing!

I normally do not leave reviews, but this book will have you hooked. I loved everything about it! Highly recommended. This is my first book by this author and I'm looking forward to futures books.
