Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

The Bennet family of Longbourn, Hertfordshire, had long been known to its neighbours as exceptionally learned though eccentric, but was tolerated because the first Bennets settled there more than four hundred years before, just after the great plague. Story
In this low angst, a sweet retelling of Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Bennet is not just idle, he is actively cruel. And Mrs. Bennet, while still uneducated, must do whatever she can to protect her daughters from their father. Mr. Darcy’s epiphany comes much earlier than in canon and it changes his relationships not only with the Bennets but with his sister, his cousin Anne, and Bingley. When the Bennet matriarch moves to an estate outside of Bath with her daughters, Bingley follows and so do both Darcy siblings.

One warning, two cautions, and a note: WARNING: In deference to a truth universally acknowledged that men do not behave the same when no women are present as they do in mixed company, this vagary does have occasional uses of profanity. The men in my life would consider it amusing but naïve to afford the same semantics of conversation for wholly different circumstances such as these, or they would should one of them choose to read it. This vagary proposes an alternate telling of the original Pride and Prejudice and considers what may have happened should the characters have been afforded a ...

I much prefer the sharpest criticism of a single intelligent man to the thoughtless approval of the masses. ELIZABETH BENNET is determined that she will put a stop to her mother’s plans to marry off the eldest Bennet daughter to Mr. Collins, the Longbourn heir, but a man that Mr. Bennet considers an annoying dimwit. Hence, Elizabeth disguises herself as Jane and repeats her vows to the supercilious rector as if she is her sister, thereby voiding the nuptials and saving Jane from a life of drudgery. Bland
This was a very boring book. I did not think the characters were interesting at all and the story was most improbable.

Awful, painfully sappy.
Too explanatory in many spots, it is disrespectful to the reader, they can read between the lines. The bizarre illness and garden dream, so absurd. I need to rate this by the eye roll and I give this 763 eye rolls. Do better JAFF!

New romance twist for P & P
I loved this variation of Pride & Prejudice. Less of the bad guys, and more of just Darcy and Elizabeth. Hope to read more from this author.

The sun is the Son
I love a completely different story from the original but the characters are still recognizable. This one has some shocking behavior from one in particular but also revealing some failure to show appropriate feeling for Charlotte by her parents. I really liked this story. The eulogy at a funeral was quite profound. I will listen to it again. The VV is not bad although I prefer a good voice actor but at least this VV is soft and sweet but the mispronounced words and at times inappropriate tone detracts from the flow of the story. The story is well written and I can recommend it without reservation.
