Publisher's summary
It has been almost two years since this book has been published. It has sold over 2,000 copies and over 850,000 pages have been read through Kindle Unlimited memberships. The book has also just been released as an Audio Book, if you have read this book through Kindle Unlimited, it would be a rewarding experience to hear it being read. You also get a special rate to purchase it as an Audio Book. Vietnam veterans from around the country have contacted me and have had positive things to say about the book. It has been rated #1 quite a few times and has spent a loot of time being rated in the Top 10 on Amazon in the Vietnam War category. The positive response to the book has been very satisfying and is very much appreciated.
I joined the Army a few days after my 18th birthday, 1967.This book is my story of 3 years of military duty during the Vietnam war. 1 year of training, 1 year as an infantry squad leader in Vietnam and 1 year active duty after Vietnam. This is not a book about endless combat. It's about a teenage Sgt. trying to do the right thing under impossible conditions. Vietnam wears you down, it burns you out and it's always with you, even 54 years later. It's there, just below the surface. That's what this book is about. F Troop 8th Cav, Blue Ghost, Hill 29, Vietnam. I am very proud to be a Blue Ghost.
Thanks, Gareth B. Style

Hilarious, fascinating, and a roller coaster of dizzying, historical what-ifs, Napoleon's Hemorrhoids is a potpourri for serious historians and casual history buffs. In one of Phil Mason's many revelations, you'll learn that Communist jets were two minutes away from opening fire on American planes during the Cuban missile crisis, when they had to turn back as they were running out of fuel. You'll discover that before the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's painful hemorrhoids prevented him from mounting his horse to survey the battlefield.

In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

The history of the tablets translated in the following book is strange and beyond the belief of modern scientists. Their antiquity is stupendous, dating back some 36,000 years. The writer is Thoth, an Atlantean Priest-King, who founded a colony in ancient Egypt after the sinking of the mother country. He was the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, erroneously attributed to Cheops. In it he incorporated his knowledge of the ancient wisdom and also securely secreted records and instruments of ancient Atlantis.

How did the Wendels, one of New York’s most famous Gilded Age families, disappear from history? The Wendels built a fortune from New York real estate, and rubbed shoulders with the Astors, Vanderbilts, and Stuyvesants. But as the 19th century came to an end, the Wendel family tore itself apart. Following six years of painstaking archival research, Claire Prentice has prised open the door of the Wendels’ Fifth Avenue mansion—dubbed “the house of mystery” by the press—to reveal a fascinating and dysfunctional family imprisoned in a gilded cage.

The history of the Boston Tea Party is a hidden one. Why? Since it was a clandestine operation, all sorts of rumors and legends grew up around the event—many collected decades after the American Revolution had ended. At its core, however, the night of December 16, 1773, when colonials dumped tea from British ships into Boston Harbor, was more than a fight over tea and taxes. It was a struggle over the very nature of democracy and self-governance.

Story
The very strange but nevertheless true story of the dark underbelly of a 1960s hippie utopia. Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and early 1970s was a magical place where a dizzying array of musical artists congregated to create much of the music that provided the soundtrack to those turbulent times. But there was a dark side to that scene as well. Many didn't make it out alive, and many of those deaths remain shrouded in mystery to this day.

The Viet-Nam War for America began in 1964, and finally ended in 1975. Nearly 59,000 Americans died, over 300,000 were wounded, and in total, almost 3,000,000 served "in-country." Combat was usually short-lived skirmishes, ambushes, and some longer sustained battles such as Dak To, Khe Sanh, and the 1968 Tet Offensive. No matter where you were stationed, there were always potential hazards to be faced. Allied forces faced not only an armed guerrilla population, but many "natural" hazards to one's health. Every American who served in Viet-Nam and came home after the end of their tour brought...

As a radio operator, upon arrival in Vietnam, Greenberg was both surprised and troubled when he was arbitrarily assigned to the First Recon Battalion, generally considered to be an elite unit.

Most of us never get to test ourselves in combat. As a UH-1 Helicopter pilot flying in the jungle highlands of South Vietnam, Warrant Officer Jim Crigler and the men he flew with were tested daily. Coming of age in the late 1960s and early 1970s was challenging for most young men of that era. Throw in drugs, free love, draft notices, the Vietnam War, and a country deeply divided, and you have one of the most important books of this genre. This true story is a raw, bold, introspective autobiography.

Story
Every now and then a work comes along that is so simple and refreshing in its originality that it immediately captures the spirit of American fighting men throughout the ages. Such is this work by Bob Babcock. What makes this work unique is that it is based upon his wartime writing as it occurred, without the softening of time and the refining of modern memory applied to past experience. In it you will find the thinking of a young officer as he struggles to take in all that he is responsible for while experiencing everything himself for the first time.

Their stories involve Marines fighting bloody battles for hills soon abandoned after being captured; Naval aviators watching their wingman being shot down on missions targeting meaningless targets while Hanoi ...

Enlightening
Though the narration is not bad, It could be improved.
The book itself is very good. I found the personal stories of Mr. Styles service helped me to better understand the Vietnam War. Well written.
