Publisher's summary

Book 4 in the multicast duet narrated smash series, Heartless Villain concludes The Mate Games: Death with an all-star cast.

Captain Hook isn’t loyal to anyone, but I’d die for her.

Once I was a prince, then I became a lost boy, then their king. Now, I’m nothing more than a heartless villain.

Or at least so I thought. Until I met her. Until I had a reason for that husk in my chest to resume its beating. I know I’m not alone. She’s worked her magic on all of us. Her monstrous beast

Her vengeful dragon

Her merciless god

And of course me, her mad pirate

I’ve been trapped far from home, without my crew, without my ship. A captain with no purpose. But Dahlia is my port in the storm. She calls me to her and grounds me. Unfortunately, it’s not enough. With every passing tick, tick, tick, my madness grows. How can I protect her when I can barely remember who I am? Something dark is coming for us all. It’s been hiding in the shadows, but now it’s time to play in the light. And even without a compass to guide me, I’ll fight for her until the bitter end.

Perfection

Meg and Kim create such compelling story lines. In the last book I was thinking it interesting that Death hadn’t shown herself a lot and I figured there was a reason bc these fabulous authors have a reason and purpose with how they unfold the story. When it was finally revealed as why, it was just so perfect and fitting for the story. It actually has me thinking smut the other horse women War and Pestilence in conjunction to the story. It’s just amazing how well everything is crafted together and not just in the particular story but in the universe that both of these authors have created. The cameos and Easter eggs are so fun to come across. Speaking of cameos I seriously love Teddy, Aaron and Shane being cameos for these. It’s an instant connection back to the other parts of the MG. I LOVED the bloopers at the end and that whisper off!!! Sweet Mercy the right mate definitely won. There is not much else that can be said about the cast in this book other than the immense talent is so perfect and astounding. The amount of different character and dialects that are used just blow my mind. I cannot wait for 2025 for the next and sadly final(?) Mate Games section. Bravo to all involved in this majestic series!

what an ending

what an incredible story this was. this was definitely a journey. These two authors know how to bring it all. From the spice to laughter to the Angst. Oh the anxiety I felt during this story. I had some to say the least. This story has twists and turns and ups and downs and It has laughter that you're laughing out loud It has spice that will make you squirm in your seat. it definitely was an incredible journey and to say this was spectacular is an understatement. let's talk about the narrators now because what a cast you got to hear some old time favorites pop in and do their part. I just thought it was such fun with all these different characters and every narrator playing a different part or sometimes more than one part it was just spectacular They made the story so much more even though the story is on its own an incredible story It was just fabulous. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes spice laughter angst you name it you got it.

Worth the wait!

Omg. Yesss. Can I please get a shadow daddy?? This one was great. I literally laughed out loud so many times people were looking at me funny! Great end to the series and I can't WAIT for apocalypse! I have purchased and read all of the mate games and I am SOOOOOOO freaking obsessed with every single one of them! The duet narration with a full cast was *chef's kiss * as usual and I couldn't stop listening to all of those sexy ass voices 🥵
The action and spice was great and I got in my feels at least twice during the whole ride 😭
I can't sing enough praises to the authors for this bang up job.
I'm so sad I have to wait until 2025 for the next bit 😭 but I damn sure will be ordering as soon as they drop!
Now on to listen to the bonus audio by the goodest boy asshole 🖤

Amazing!

This world is amazing. I have read all of the death games and they keep getting better & better.
I can’t wait to read the next spin off series to find out what happens. Please let it follow the 4 horseman.

Don’t even get me started on the narrators. Chefs kiss. 1000 stars.

PS I just listened to the bonus epilogue & OMG IM BLUSHING at the whisper scene haha

The culmination of all things Death was epic.

Everything I wanted and didn’t even know I wanted came to be in this epic conclusion of The Mate Games Death. Twists, turns, all the feels (I might have cried a little), and all the spice. Loved every minute of it all! And the bonus scene with Ahole and Kiki was chef’s kiss perfect.

The story itself was great, but the beyond amazing performances of the audiobook took it to the next level. These narrators do such a beautiful job of bringing the words to life and fully immersing you in the story. I hope Meg and Kim keeping writing together and bringing together phenomenal casts for their audiobooks for a long, long time.

I highly recommend this book and all the other books of The Mate Games series to any lover of paranormal/fantasy romance. It checks all the boxes.

OMG!!

Performance: I have nothing else to say that I haven’t already said in previous reviews. These wonderful talented people will live in my head rent free forever.

Story:
I am having such a book hangover. This was a tumultuous conclusion to the series. I laughed in the middle of ugly crying. I gasped and groaned. I got all hot and bothered and the bonus epilogue OMG!! I don’t know what I am going to do while I wait until 2025. I might just re-listen to the whole MG series again.
