Publisher's summary

In grief, it is normal to wonder if you will ever feel okay again. Loneliness, fear, confusion, and anger make hope hard to come by. And yet, grieving in hope is vital to the healing process.

Written at a much-appreciated length, this brief book gently guides listeners through the healing process of grief. Showing how grief doesn't happen in neat, orderly stages, it explains how to work through painful emotions and questions and find God's peace and healing.

Yes. This book is helpful.

I lost two very dear ones in April this year, went on with life for awhile and then got whacked with grief in September. This book was very helpful and insightful. I recommend it highly.

Practical help for grieving

I heard this book after I had been widowed for nearly 3 years. I was impressed with how realistically the author described the grieving process. I recommended it to a new widow who also found it helpful. We have both listened to it multiple times. Dr. White's approach is very practical , realistic , God-honoring and compassionate.

Much needed book

i wish someone on earth had loved me enough to hand me a copy of this when I got back from Afghanistan back in 2011.
Still struggling with resentment and animosity, even 11 years later. The mis-identification of auto-pilot as strength was a major problem. Not that anyone cared about me beyond their suddenly not getting enough out of me as they wanted. Yet still, this book would have been a great help; just to know there was such a thing as numbness as normalcy in a real way, instead of idiots pushing "resilient" narratives as excuses for abusing me further, as though I owed it to them to give what I had run out of.

Practical Roadmap

This book touches on many things to look out for during the grieving process, what is “normal,” and what are pitfalls. Directs us to God’s purpose in our life, thereby putting our focus on Christ and giving us hope.
One part especially helpful was topic of “Life Patterns” we’ve established over many years with our loved one, and how to (naturally) develop new patterns. We have been and will be different persons…no going back. Only when we accept this reality can we move forward in this journey.
God still has a plan for our life!

Very Helpful

For the Christian, how do we grieve? As with all things there must be a biblical and right way to grieve. This book deals with that question in a biblical way. I found it to be very helpful.
