Resumen del Editor

When the beautiful Lady Isabella Scranford finds herself in the family way and her lover refuses to do the honorable thing, she knows her life is at an end. With a reputation for being a cold-hearted bitch, there will be no sympathy for her, only shame and ridicule. Finding that even her best - and only - friend refuses to be associated with her any longer, Isabella decides she cannot go on and makes a fateful decision.

Henry Barbour is known locally as the Bear of Barcham Wood. Living alone in the vast and decaying splendor of Barcham Place, surrounded by wilderness and woodland, he inspires such tales of madness that no one locally will go near the once grand house.

When a filthy and frightening man rescues Isabella from drowning, she begins to believe her fate has taken an even darker turn. Yet appearances can be deceptive, and an unlikely bond is created between two damaged souls who need to hide from the world.

As Isabella comes to understand the meaning of compassion, she begins to realize the most important things in life are not at all what she expected them to be.

Each One Gets Better

Rogues andGentlemen is a fantastic series with each book getting better. She knows how to bring flawed characters to life. Henry is flawed and the reader can relate to his insecurities. Emma has a way of turning horrible characters into sweethearts in her next book. I think that is remarkable- redemption of a character such as Isabella is an art in itself. Oh, yes the narrator is tremendous and adds another level to an already great listening journey. This writer excels at her craft.

Absolutely Beautiful Love Story

We've all read stories that include a vicious BiTcH but in this one she becomes the herione.

But it is the tormented mind of reclusive Henry, our Hero, that is close to my heart. I have two young men in my life that are "special": one with Asperger's who prefers his own quiet room, has great difficulty making or having friends, can't concentrate enough to drive a car but has a wonderful mathematical and technological brain. The other, as Henry is referred in the book, would have been institutionalized, a vulnerable adult who cannot live without aid. Along with Henry's caretaker Jack, I saw similarities to Steinbeck's George and Lenny in Of Mice And Men.

As Isabelle shed's her despicable armor, Henry breaks through his cocoon and a beautiful love story unfolds. Totally 5 stars.
I loved The Winter Bride as well. I have a new man crush on reader Philip Battley (he's very handsome as well!)

I laughed when Henry changed the babies nappy for the first time and so proud of his work holds her up to his wife, "see" and the diaper promptly falls down her chubby little legs to the floor.

Finding herself

Another wonderful read by Philip Battley. Lady Isabella is hated not only by the to n but by her mother. Isabella acted towards people the way her mother raised her and how her mother treated her. When she is thrown out of her home in the dead of winter by her mother because she is pregnant, she thinks she has no other chose but to end her life.
When she realizes she wants to live she has to struggle to stay above water.
Henry Barbour is known as the Bear of Barcham Woods. He is strange and lives alone with Jack. People call him mad but he doesn’t care. When he see a woman in the water he goes into the freezing water to save her. When Isabella looks at her rescuer she screams. Jack and Henry brings her back, realize she is pregnant and Jack just wants her gone. But Henry wants to paint her. Isabella agrees as long as she can stay. As Isabella gets to know Henry she realizes he has been teaching her compassion. A beautifully written story with a wonderful ending.

Books 1-10

**Review's for books 1-10**
Narrator did a very good job giving life to all character's and distinguishing them.

Book 1- Very good story kept me riveted and engaged from start to finish and looking forward to more.
Book 2- Same as the first.
Book 3- Really loved this tale over the 1st and 2nd.
Book 4- So far this one is my most favorite amongst the 10 I've read. I absolutely adored Beau and Millie.
Book 5- This is where thing's start going south for me. I just loved Aubrey in the previous books but he was too young and submissive for my taste in this one. The whole story lacked EVERYTHING it's previous stories did. I also didn't like Violette.
Book 6- Was a chore and found Edward and Belle a bit boring and more wanting to know more about Clercy instead.
Book 7- Here's where I really get upset! Half or more of this book I had already read in book 6!! This is a huge pet peeve of mine when author's do this because we're not getting a FULL fresh book at all but still paying for something we've already bought!! UGH!! This story was beyond ridiculous also and I truly hated it. It left me mad and upset.  Gabriel was such a weak "hero" that I laugh at even thinking him to be considered one. He's actually the opposite of a hero. Clercy was portrayed too perfect and accepting, which I was expecting to see more, even a damn ghost or two but NADA!! Although I appreciated her blunt approach, she's just far too young and inexperienced to be so "perfect " which made this entire story just too far fetched and unbelievable.
Book 8- Again, another submissive Male which is a turn off and a female that's unremarkable. Predictable tale with nothing new.
Book 9- I enjoyed this one and hoped that the author found her lost mojo of bringing back the joy I found in the first few of the series.
Book 10- I was wrong because this was yet again a huge disappointment. I will stop here and save my money and time on finding another author.
