Publisher's summary

Curvy pilot Connie West hates taking risks. But when her reckless father stakes her beloved airplane in a bet with a ruthless loan shark, Connie is forced to enter the Rydon Cup, a dangerous high-speed air race. To win the bet, she needs a co-pilot she can trust completely. Someone cautious and sensible. Someone completely unlike the gorgeous, wild Chase....

Pegasus shifter and firefighter Chase Tiernach lives life at top speed, but not even his close friends in his elite, all-shifter fire crew can guess that his ready grin conceals a broken heart. Three years ago, he met his fated mate Connie...and lost her again, thanks to his reputation for recklessness.

When Chase unexpectedly rescues Connie from a fire, he's determined that this time, he'll win her trust. All he has to do is fight off a gang of criminal shark shifters, defend Connie from a mysterious assassin, convince her to marry him so his clan will let him tell her he shifts into a flying horse, and win a perilous air race in a vintage warplane! What could possibly go wrong?

Sweet and hilarious

Found myself laughing so many times. The hero here is a bit of a bumbling idiot, but the sweetest one you’ll ever meet.
This a simple fun read. Unknowing human finds herself mated to a Pegasus shifter. Yep, there are mythical creatures as shifter breeds :) The usual disbelief, with the hero having to convince his girl that she is the one for him.

The drama through the book was interesting, but... I have to admit very few of the twists were unexpected. This read isn’t going to have you on the edge of your seat wondering what’s going on and who the bad guy is. It might have you falling out of your seat laughing at the hero though!
But I will say this for the drama. The end game wasn’t so obvious that I wanted to slap the characters for their blind naivety.

So. A book I will enjoy reading again, and has definitely got me hooked to go through the rest of the series, as the small glimpses I had of the other characters have me intrigued!

The 1 missing star was only for the predictability. But overall, I really did love this book!

A light and fun listen.

I'm really enjoying is series. The characters are likeable and the world building is familiar but still satisfies my fantasy cravings. Likeable characters, clear world building, 2.5 out of 5 for spiced level. I would recommend this for somebody who's looking for something light and easy.

Great story

I love this story. It is ine of the best books I have heard this year. Romantic, funny, action packed what more can you ask for.
would have loved to have 2 narrators; but the narrator does a great job.

All the shifters are great!

I have to say- I’m so pleasantly surprised about these amazing fun books. This one, well, I love it! There is a Pegasus Shifter and I have to say this is one of maybe 3 Pegasus Shifters I’ve read which makes it original. The Lost Love is amazing. I really enjoyed the whole thing!
Lucy Rivers delivers a great performance. All of the accents are amazing as well as the voice of different genders. Pretty fun story & a great time!

I adored this! Wholesome but not overly fluffy

This filled the hole of finishing the Ice Planet Barbarians series. It has a similar sense of wholesomeness, but it had more action toward the end. If you liked the Mystic Bayou series by Molly Harper, you'll like this.

The love interest is hilarious. He's a ton of fun, impulsive, and his inner pegasus is ready to kick someone's teeth in for threatening his mate.

The MC is smart, snarky, and respects herself. She's not weak and she questions the whole "I'm your mate!" instead of just going with it. She felt like a real woman.

I throughly enjoyed this and bought the rest of the series. It's heteronormative, but not in a way that feels grating. It's a feel-good read.

A Pegasus…I’m dead. It was so cute and well written!

When I found this, I thought I’d found the end of contemporary, fantasy romance novels. I was in one of those funny moods where I couldn’t stop laughing at the cover. I even sent pics of the cover to friends, who called to further tease me about my listening preferences leading me to the end of the internet.

I said I was going to listen, as it’s short, and how could I not. I really enjoyed it. It kept me laughing and the writing was engaging, entertaining, sweet, funny, and the great narration was the cherry on top.

I take back laughing at it, but it still kept me laughing. (I will still be sharing the cover to make friends and family laugh.)

Lots of fun

I really enjoyed the narrator's playful take on this engrossing story. It was hard to pause listening.

Too silly to deal with!

I just can’t with this one. Can’t suspend my disbelief, can’t stop giggling at the “stallion” references, and above all, can’t stop thinking that that’s the worst version of a Scot’s accent I’ve ever heard. It’s like a vaudeville stage Irish accent, but worse.

The whole thing is just too silly for me to find enjoyable. I see others have enjoyed it, and I’m truly happy for them. This is just a warning to those who, like me, don’t enjoy treacle.

Not A Fan

The narrator did a good job. I wasn't a fan of Connie, she was to negative for me to enjoy the story.
