Publisher's summary

It’s forbidden... but that just makes it hotter.

Courteney Clarke is the kind of girl who rock stars like me write songs about.

She’s beautiful, but she's totally off-limits.

Because she’s my best friend’s little sister.

Now she tells me she’s a virgin - and she wants me to be her first.

But she’s just f--king with me. I know she is.

She just hates me that much.

She knows her brother would freak if I touched her.

And if she plans to keep putting it in my face so I’ll give in...we’re both in a world of trouble.

This is cold war, but I’m not giving in.

Problem is, neither is she.

I know I need to do the right thing here....

But the wrong thing might just be way too filthy to resist.

Filthy Beautiful is the second full-length novel in the Players rockstar romance series, and the 10th book in the Dirty/Players series world.

Let me correct a previous review I read

I read a previous review that nearly made me skip this book. First off, the is not a perv or pedophilia book. Yes there was a big age difference between the two. However, in history young women married older men, and in this day in age it happens regularly. The young 18yo girl was seriously bent on getting the man she wanted. He tour himself up and kept running from her, until he couldn’t anymore. As a mother of four girls, some of them are just crazy mature and know what they want. I have two very mature daughters that I swear was born at age 40 and now they are in their 20s and I’m pretty sure they are more mature then me. Also, if a girl is hell bent on losing her virginity, I’d hope she would do what this girl did to make sure it was good and magical not like some girls who experienced such a lame first time that they wonder if they should even have sex again. So heck yeah, I’m glad this scenario was put into one of the stories. The review I have been referring to said they didn’t finish the story, and I’m pretty sure if they had they wouldn’t have had the same opinion if they would have finished it. So please read and finish the book.

Now that I’m done fusing about the review I read. Here is my thoughts. First off, everyone has a back story and the couple in this story, well their back stories and experiences truly give you the answers as to why everything plays out the way it did and I am thrilled. Mimi don’t want to give more away then I have. But their story is pretty heart felt in a way that this author hasn’t brought to us yet. Again, read/listen all the way through.

As usual, narrators were spot on and super wonderful. Can’t wait to move to Flynn’s story because I have been pretty curious about him from the beginning.

great read easy yes for the coveted credit

Almost all of the books are Smoking Hot easy to listen to the whole book all at once. Ashley Player wasnt my favorite but absolutely not one to skip. zander well his book is great. However I really wish they would have given some more back story of why carry is so lost. What happened to Live & why Carry is the only one who cant work through the pain. I think you totally missed that. I hoped as I listened it would come out. It never did. If Carry is getting a book it must, I pray it will be the next book. I certainly see how it should as the development band. Except there was way too much Carry life in this book. Since you left it so open my next want is to find out about Carry. I'm invested with who, what, when & why. Its killing not know what happened. He is a big part of this book. so I want more. Please give us more of Carry.

I loved it!!

Seeing a big bad rock star handle this firecracker of a young girl and figure out how to have big boy feelings had been AWSOME! And so funny. There were times she was a bit annoying only because of her young ness but I really love it! And the mystery of her brother for sure has me looking forward to a book in the future to figure him out. I loved all the “Dirty” books but so far the “Player” books have been great!! Loved the narrators.

Diamond's talent is beyond words

This story is a bit more on the humorous side. Both lead characters had me at a level of frustration and irritation that forced me to remind myself that they are fictional. Never wanted to smack 2 people upside the head so much, but that only goes to show that Jaine Diamond is truly talented! Another recommendation with this one!

Hot Story!

The characters have enough layers to keep you guessing as to what direction the story will take. Once it heats up you won’t be able to put it down.

Xander Rush & Couteney Clarke

*****Spoiler Alert*****

Audible review. Dual POV. Players series book 2. Rock star/Best friend's virgin little sister/12 year age gap (older man/younger woman) romance. Ava Erickson and Lee Samuels do a great job and their voices fit the characters' ages. I do wish both narrators had a Canadian accident since the characters are Canadian and the story takes place in Canada. Trigger warnings: drugs; two deaths; agoraphobia; depression.

Alexander Roscoe (30; aka Xander Rush) is a drummer without a band. Courteney Clarke (18; Court/CC/cupcake) is a recent high school graduate who is concerned with her brother's (Cary Clarke, his book is 'Lovely Madness') mental health so instead of going to college Courteney moves in with her brother under the guise of working as his assistant. Xander is Cary's best friend and he frequently stays in Cary's pool house. Courteney has had a crush on Xander for over two years and this book reveals how they get on track to find their HEA together. They aren't married or engaged in the end but are planning to live together.

Notable events: Blair is introduced, he's a key character in Summer's story. Brody & Jessa's bachelor/bachelorette parties and a brief mention of their wedding (their book is called 'Dirty Like Brody). Trey's Bachelor Auction for a children's charity.

Epilogue is narrated by Kirsten Leigh. It's an intro to Summer's story ('Sweet Temptation'). JP

SORRY.. IT’S A NO FROM ME THIS TIME JAINE

I’ve loved all of Jaine Diamond’s previous books.. but unfortunately I personally was a wee bit uncomfortable with Courtney and Xander’s storyline. A reclusive grieving ex band mate’s very off-limits little sister.. a twelve year age gap (Courteney’s 18 and Xander’s 30).. he’s a slut rocker.. she’s a besotted young girl who has had a huge pre-teen crush on the Drummer in her brother’s band for years. And, at 18, Courteney has totally dropped her College, career and life goals, moved in to work for her anti-social hermit brother (but I don’t remember any actual work being done or them interacting).. and, after poolside tipsy giggles with her girlfriends, Courteney decides to continually sexually tempt, flirtatiously tease and almost bludgeon poor Xander into finally taking her v card. There’s a lot of push ‘n pull as Xander tries to repeatedly do the right thing over and over again.. but the little minx wants the tattooed bad-boy rocker and a HEA relationship too.

Worth a credit? Was it me or was it the content? - I don’t know.. but I do know that, I personally, thought the connection was forced, the chemistry was weak, Courteney came across as a YA fan girl rather than a NA grown woman.. and that there just wasn’t any substance to the relationship. I also know that I’ll be asking for my credit back on this one.. sorry Jaine.. but good dual POV narration.
