Publisher's summary
I had to leave. I had no choice. I loved her too much to stay.
Carys has always owned my heart, and loving her was the best part of my life...until I discovered the truth, realizing that the only way to keep her safe was to let her go.
I thought it would become easier - that my love for her would eventually fade. But I was wrong. The longer I stayed away, the more it hurt to be apart from her.
It’s probably selfish and reckless, but I want her back. I need her more than I need air to breathe. Without her, I’m nothing but a broken soul.
Problem is, she’s already moved on and started a new life without me. But I’ve never shied away from a challenge, and there’s nothing I won’t do to prove to her that she’s still mine.
She’s always been mine.

It’s been said that you can’t love two men at the same time. You can’t split your heart, soul, and body in half. But I’m here to tell you, you can. Dylan Cole is like ice, sharp and unpredictable, the thunder inside a tumultuous storm. Smith Reid is warmth, soft and gentle, perfect like a sunny day. Both are mine. But I can have only one. There are two sides to this tale. I'm here to tell you mine. If you think this story is about a cheater, you couldn’t be more wrong.

A Great Romantic Suspense!
This is the second book in the amazing New York Knights Series, an amazing Romantic Suspense. Carys and Evan's second chance to love is fast-paced, complex, intriguing, and captivating. Carys is lovely and strong. Evan is dark, and determined. I loved their suspenseful journey. Noelle Bridges and Jason Clarke did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Captive Night, Coop and Anna's story.

I love the action, drama and suspense in here
Another action packed story. This is the second book in this series. I was surprised at the angle this story took. I did not anticipate the search and where it would lead Van. Van and Carys are the romance portion but the main story is so much more complex than just a second chance romance. It’s years old but the past is coming back. Will Evan, Carys and the group make it through?
I loved getting to know the elusive Van mentioned in Reckless Night (book 1). He desperately wants back in this family mold he destroyed when he left. Carys loved Van her whole life. They had a future planned. But he left and now he is back she isn’t sure she can forgive him.
This story gets us involved with Van’s business. That means we get more time with men we know Coop, Tripp and Rylan. Yesss! There are also a few new characters. I love the camaraderie they have. I can’t wait to learn more about them.
Also i want to mention Carys mother. She is so supportive and when she greeted Evan for the first time it brought tears to my eyes. That is exactly how any child would want to be greeted by their mom. Loved it!
This author has done it again. While this is a shorter book it doesn’t lack action, drama or suspense. It’s loaded with it. I love getting to know this group better with each book. I think I know who is next...Coop is one.
I did listen to this on audio. Jason Clarke and Noelle Bridges are the narrators. I have listened to Mr Clark numerous times. I think I could listen to him all day. This is a first time for me with Noelle Bridges. I liked her voice. She did a good job with the different characters.

There was so much into their relationship
I enjoyed this one much more than the first book of the series.
First, the narrators were much better. They kept me in the story all along, and I could relate to the characters.
I also felt closer to the story. It’s still romantic suspense, with mafia and gambling and death, but the book was also about grief and how one can react when learning that the person they loved wasn’t exactly who they thought. I think it’s more relatable than criminal stories.
Maybe there were too many characters though, especially too many to introduce for the first time. It felt a bit confusing.
Finally, I really loved how Carys and Evan’s relationship develops. We get to see its early stages–the friendship of two children sharing grief–and I enjoyed that. And they had history, a past they shared that connected them. There was so much into their relationship, friends and lovers at the same time, that it made for a very interesting dynamic.

Love conquers all
S. M. West spun an intriguing tale of how two childhood friends turned lovers weathered obstacles and unforeseen circumstances to get their happily ever after! Carys and Evan had the advantage of knowing one another well because they grew up together so a solid foundation was set from the beginning of their relationship. This allowed them to give each other the room needed to make better decisions when tough situations arose. Their story evoked a wide range of emotions to include compassion, love, desperation, and despicable actions by their enemies. Luckily for them that their love conquered all! Noelle Bridges and Jason Clarke’s performances were stellar and made for a top notch listening experience !
