Publisher's summary

One photo. Seven friends. And a strange face, none of them recognise.

"I loved it - a classy and clever subversion of a country house mystery" Harriet Tyce

**A Sunday Times crime book of the month**

A group of old friends gather at a remote Scottish castle, one last weekend before Georgie's wedding. Down at the loch, they take a group photo - but what they see stops them cold.

Because there's a stranger behind them.

None of them saw him, and nobody knows where he went. They're miles from the nearest town. Where did he come from, and where did he go?

As the weekend unravels and terrible secrets come to light, it soon becomes clear that their perfect weekend is turning into a perfect nightmare. They're desperate to leave - but someone won't let them.

A page-turning thriller perfect for fans of Catherine Cooper's THE CHALET and Lucy Foley's THE HUNTING PARTY.

So slow

Ugh...the first 6 hours are the most boring ever. Honestly, how they pronounced puma drove me crazy. Believe me they say that more than you'd expect.
They all really liked doing lines of ketamine.
The weird part about her petting a dog and getting him "excited" could of been cut. The only thing I'll remember about this book is the puma thing and twins.

Just slow, weird, drug fueled nothingness with an unimaginative ending.

Absolutely Brilliant

My words will never do this book justice.
There is no way that I could articulate, effectively what makes this such a phenomenal listen (or read).
It is spooky, atmospheric, filled with extraordinarily well developed characters, and the story itself is just good, well told, and you want to know what’s going to happen next.
Give this book a chance to work it’s magic.
Get through the first couple of chapters without being overwhelmed by the number of characters (it is smartly constructed so it’s easy to remember who’s who) and let the mystery and the haunting beauty of the location and it’s history take you on a journey.
You will not be disappointed.
A work of art with perfect narration.
In fact, the narration is so good and the variety of accents are so effortlessly achieved that it adds an entirely unexpected pleasure to the story,
Excellent. Beautiful, Clever, Well thought out.
I will look forward to her next offerings, this is an extremely talented author…
