Con una prosa rigurosa y entrañable, el autor inicia su recorrido a finales del siglo XIX, transita por el Porfiriato, “observa a los observadores” de la Revolución, atestigua la conformación identitaria del México moderno, mira cómo el cine ha construidohéroes y demonios, y termina con un drama cuya importancia no hemos terminado de aquilatar: el incendio de la Cineteca Nacional en 1982.
