Die kleine Hexe ist erst einhundertsiebenundzwanzig Jahre alt und wird deshalb von den großen Hexen noch nicht ernst genommen. Obwohl man es ihr verboten hat, feiert sie den Hexentanz auf dem Blocksberg mit. Zur Strafe muss sie sich ohne Besen zu Fuß auf den Weg nach Hause machen. Beim nächsten Tanz darf sie nur dabei sein, wenn sie ein Jahr lang eine gute Hexe gewesen ist. Unterstützt von ihrem Raben Abraxas, studiert die kleine Hexe von nun an fleißig im Hexenbuch.
Durch ihren Entschluss, fortan eine gute Hexe zu sein, um beim nächsten Hexentanz auf dem Blocksberg mitfeiern zu können, erlebt die kleine Hexe jede Menge lustige aber auch spannende Abenteuer. Doch als sie einen Tag vor der Walpurgisnacht vom Hexenrat geprüft wird, stellt sich heraus, dass Abraxas ihr einen schlechten Rat gegeben hat. Aber am Ende zeigt die kleine Hexe allen, dass sie besser hexen kann als alle anderen Hexen zusammen!
