Frau Marthe Rull entdeckt die Scherben eines wertvollen Kruges im Zimmer ihrer Tochter Eve. Dort hat sie am Vorabend den Verlobten ihrer Tochter, den Bauernsohn Ruprecht ertappt. Frau Marthe bringt den Fall vor Gericht und Adam muss widerwillig eine Verhandlung abhalten! Er versucht, die Aufklärung des Falles zu verhindern und den Verdacht auf andere zu lenken.
