Publisher's summary

The Wilder Brothers from New York Times best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan continue with Elijah’s last chance at redemption and love.

I made plans. I followed the path. I fell in love.

Then the world took her away from me.

I swore to never love again, and I’ve done all I could to keep that vow.

But life finds a way, and I can’t stop this burning attraction with my best friend.

Maddie stood by me when my world shattered.

She deserves more than a broken man who promised to never love again.

Only I swear she feels the same way about me. And I have no idea what to do about it.

Now she might leave the Wilders, and I can’t tell her to stay—even if it means shattering the one piece of me I have left.

This series is excellent, and the narration is wonderful! I can't wait for the next book after that epilogue!

Coming Home For Us

This is an endearing story of getting a second chance at finding love. Elijah has had love and lost it and vows to never love again. Every time he finds love it is taken away from him. Yet he sees love once more given to him but can he take that chance again at maybe finding a forever? Maddie loved Elijah once before but fate had other plans. When it offers her and Elijah another chance, she must make a choice to follow her heart or her mind.

This story will pull on your heart strings. There are a lot of emotions and trauma that need to be dealt with. Elijah needs all the help that he can get and he learns that he can turn to his family for that help. Maddie is a strong woman but at times her love for Elijah may not be enough to keep her tied to the Wilder’s. I enjoyed not only the main characters storyline but also the bits that we get to see of the supporting characters as well. Narrators Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke do a nice job of bringing these characters and their emotions to life. I was quickly immersed in to their story.

Maddie and Elijah are Combustible

Coming Home for Us by Carrie Ann Ryan is book four in The Wilder Brothers series. It is a friend-to-lover, somewhat of a second chance, workplace, love after loss story of Elijah and Maddie.

Maddie has been with the winery for so long that she's built quite a reputation. Local competitors have attempted multiple times to snatch her away. Elijah is the operations director, and he and Maddie are quite the team. Though Maddie has been hiding her feelings for Elijah for quite some time, Elijah is just beginning to realize he has feelings for Maddie.

Maddie and Elijah have been flirting via text and witty banter for quite some time. A business trip has Elijah seeing Maddie differently, and he's surprised to find he's feeling jealous and a bit possessive. They encounter a storm on their way home, which causes them to lose control and seek shelter, taking the last room at the inn- the honeymoon suite.

Narrators Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke were exceptional.

Elijah and Maddie's HEA

Maddie has always had a thing for Elijah but kept her feelings hidden. Elijah was attracted to Maddie when they first met, but didn't act on it since they were working together. He fell in love with Joy, then lost her to a tragic accident. Now two years later, Elijah and Maddie can no longer fight the chemistry between them and decide to see if they can make it as a couple. When a near death incident almost takes Maddie, Elijah's fears about losing everyone he loves, causes him to walk away from Maddie.

Will Elijah's fears and Maddie's feelings of not being enough for Elijah, keep them from a HEA they both deserve. Great narration by Jason Clarke and Andi Arndt.

Beautiful love

There was so much going on in this book that I had a hard time putting it down. Elijah and Maddie were flawed characters who clawed their way out of their own purgatories to find love with each other. The banter, the angst, the emotions and feelings, the steamy scenes, the friend get togethers, the family — all of this enabled Elijah and Maddie to find their way home to each other. They were flawed, a little broken, but each was the balm that the other needed to be whole. Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke brought their characters and their love to life. Andi and Jason’s talented voices embodied the passion of the characters. It’s one thing to read the words on a page, but it’s an elevated experience when one listens to a story.

Really enjoyed this one!

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and while it broke my heart, it also helped to repair it. This book picks up 2 years later and we are getting to see who Elijah and Maddie have become and the friendship they've built since Joy died in an accident. Maddie is at a crossroads and has a tough decision to make and then it gets even more complicated when things come to light between Elijah and her and things get spicy. I loved watching these two finally come together and get their shot. They are both struggling with what the right move is and where things should go but they just have this draw to each other that they can't ignore anymore. Elijah is still dealing with his grief and trying to process the fact that he can move on and love someone else. This story had a great flow and really pulled me in so I just wanted to keep reading and figure out how these two were going to make it work. I loved this one and the story definitely redeemed itself after it broke my heart. I loved getting to catch up as well with our past couples and see where they were at and I am super excited for the next book in the series as well.
The narrators did a good job with the story and bringing it to life.

Yet Another Amazing Book by CA Ryan!

Elijah and Maddie's love story comes from tragedy, a loss of a friend and a lover. It's refreshing to see them both come through it and change into the people they now are after the hard time they went through. As usual, I will always recommend Carrie Ann Ryan's books! When I tell you I laughed through the entire thing, I'm not lying. And spoiler alert: When they were talking about the Texas traffic I was giggling. Everything they were saying was experienced by me just a week ago when I was in Texas. It's super relatable and an easy to listen to story!
