Wonderful book, wonderful narrator

I was happy to see the narrator return for the 3rd book. So glad I chose these books.

TR Roosevelt was a fascinating man and continues to be so to this day. Edmund Morris brings him to life and the Reader gives the listener the sense that Roosevelt is speaking.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

Fantastic writing and narration

I am pleased to have just finished Morris’ three books on TR. Finding interest in American history later in life, Morris’ work provided so many fascinating events that shaped our country. Mark Deakins’ narration was incredible. Made me feel like I was actually listening to TR first hand. Well done to both the author and narrator.

Least exciting and attention grabbing of the trilogy

Overall, this is another excellent book, but by far the hardest to get through of Edmond Morrises trilogy on Theodore Roosevelt. It starts off with a bang, immediately grabbing your attention because it goes straight into Teddy's nine month long African safari. However, it then goes into five extremely boring hours of his secondary presidential run. However, once you get past the second presidential run it goes into his South American expedition and then into World War I which immediately grabs back your attention.

Fascinating story

What made the experience of listening to Colonel Roosevelt the most enjoyable?

Loved it. Fascinating story of the final stage of his life. Excellent narrator. I recommend this completely and without reserve.

Morris does an amazing job bringing TR to life in all three volumes. All are a must read.

I knew little about Theodore Roosevelt before reading these volumes. I was transfixed by all three. The writing was excellent, as was the narrator's performance.

Narration and story were wonderful and do justice to such a fascinating historical figure at a pivotal point in the development of the United States.

Whoa, totes did not expect this....

Having consumed the first two of this trilogy with relish, I approached the third with trepidation. This covers the final era of Roosevelt’s life, during which all of the things I knew him for had already transpired.

What follows in this book is a story of tragedy and beauty. We see a fall from Grace and a resurrection and a fall again. Human tragedy and the complexity of life are wound up in Teddy’s fascinating final years. When it was over I actually had a tear fall from my eye. Bully.

CLASSIC

This 3rd one could have been nearly half the time it was. Was not as good as the first two in the series, but still a good historical read. Such an interesting and amazing american!
