An inferno meant to destroy....

Blackwell Tactical operator and former criminalist Samantha Willis discovers forensic evidence to prove her friend has been murdered. But before she can gather the evidence, an explosion erupts and a fiery inferno traps her in a building. She helplessly watches the evidence go up in flames and prays that she can escape before the encroaching flames take her life.

Or an act of revenge....

Firefighter and former Navy SEAL Matt Griffin knew his friend’s death was no accident, and he arrives at the building to gather his own evidence. But he sees the building engulfed in flames and discovers a familiar car parked in the lot. Sam, his former girlfriend, had to be trapped inside. Despite his training, despite his captain’s protest, Griff takes off without a threat assessment, risking his life to enter the building and drag Sam to safety. When he does, he can’t help but wonder if the fire was set to destroy evidence or if it was set to kill Sam. Either way, if Sam survives, he vows to hunt down the answer.

Confusing female protagonist

I liked this story, especially since it continues with Blackwell Tactical. The one thing I didn’t like was the conflicting emotions of the female protagonist: She will stop at nothing to discover who killed her friend, she will run into a burning building to save someone. But then she is a coward when it comes to Griff, and it made no sense to me. If it weren’t for Gage, his Blackwell Tactical group, and Griff, I would have marked this book with less stars.

I love this series!

In addition to the intrigue & tactical excitement there is a blend of sweet, soft romance & strong, unwavering faith in the One we were born to serve. Her series have challenged me to look at my own trust & prayer life. Thank you for these strong, yet human characters.

Wow what a crazy twist

Murder, twisted turns, unresolved heartache. Unsuspecting Villanova and last minute redemption, forgiveness and resolution. Another great Susa Sleeman series.

Totally whiny main characters, good performance

I'm not sure how this book got so many 5 star ratings. I found the 2 main characters to be completely whiny and I got sick of them. I could barely stand them. I tried to like this book and I did like parts of it. But parts of the book dragged. The ending was great and I loved the way God is sprinkled into the book. But on the whole, this was a 3 or less for me. The performance was good, but it could not overcome the pace of the story or the whine for me.

Ok

The stories in this series are all the same. Monotonous. The main character loves someone, that someone is in danger and gets saved by the main character. In the end they are in love. Basically, the same thing over and over and over. The narrator 's voice is the same and just boring. I like to complete series and that was the main reason for listening apart from the fact that there is some religious beliefs which for me was very good and no sex scenes, thank God.
