Publisher's summary
The first novel in the new unpauseable crime-thriller series from best-selling author Diane Capri!
Michael Flint promises he can find anyone, anytime, anywhere–dead or alive. Now he’s forced to prove it.
More than $50 million in mineral royalties are up for grabs. The legal heir has disappeared. Two Texas oil barons who will stop at nothing to win their bitter rivalry desperately need to locate her before it’s too late.
In a hunt stretching from dusty, hot West Texas to snowy Saskatchewan, Flint finds himself caught in the crossfire between dueling tycoons and greedy mercenaries out for their own piece of the pie.
On Flint’s side? A knack for keeping himself alive, a hard-won moral code, and buried questions about his own family that drive everything he does.
With blood-pumping action and adventure, twists and turns pile up until the final nail-biting conclusion as Michael Flint searches for a woman whose very life depends on never being found.
Award-winning New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Diane Capri does it again in the Michael Flint, Heir Hunter thrillers.

Reeve LeClaire is a college student, dammit, not Daryl Wayne Flint's victim. Not anymore-not when Reeve is finally recovering a life of her own after four years of captivity. Flint is safely locked up in Olshaker Psychiatric Hospital, where he belongs. He is walking the grounds of the forensic unit, performing his strange but apparently harmless rituals. It seems that he is still suffering the effects of the head injury he suffered in the car crash that freed Reeve seven years ago. Post-concussive syndrome, they call it.

Story

Story
Alan Gregory is a clinical psychologist with a thriving practice in Boulder, Colorado. His life begins to unravel when one of his female patients is found in an apparent suicide and the local paper begins printing accusations from an unnamed source of sexual impropriety between the woman and Dr. Gregory. He launches a psychological and personal quest for the truth that rapidly intensifies when more of his patients die untimely deaths, and Gregory suspects not only that the deaths are related but that another one of his patients may be somehow involved. Lacking facts but roused by suspicion and troubled by seemingly random acts of terror around him, Gregory starts to fear for the safety of the people he loves. The question of the inviolability of confidential disclosures made to Gregory by his patients - privileged information - becomes crucial as the psychologist pursues an unsettling romance with Lauren Crowder, a lovely deputy district attorney investigating one of the deaths. Bound to silence, Gregory follows the psychological tracks of someone he fears may be a cunning and disturbed killer, while turning to his enigmatic but supportive partner, Diane Estevez, for counsel, and to his tart-tongued female urologist neighbor for support. The sinister, surprising drama unfolds against Boulder's Rocky Mountain backdrop, in the arresting natural beauty of Aspen, and in the midst of a baroque Halloween costume party in downtown Boulder. Finally, in a lonely mountain lodge enshrouded in menace, the story comes to its breathtaking climax.

Good Read
After reading/listening to 20+ of Diane Capri’s books, I appreciate the way she tied this book with the Reacher series. The plot was good and the careful articulation of detail within the book allowed for the opportunity for you to think you know things just before you are thwarted in your thinking and a new revelation arises. Looking forward to additional books of this series

It's a Legal Impossibility.
The basic premise of the entire book is legally flawed, so much so that it's difficult to complete the story. I have enjoyed Diane Capri's novels for years, but I expected more from her.

Just aweful
I was looking for a new action series that I could stay with through a number of books...I still am. This book was terrible from beginning to end. The dialogue was embarrassingly stupid, the plot completely unrealistic, and was bogged down with needless details that added nothing to the storyline. Don't go here.
