Publisher's summary

My tribesmates don't understand her. The other humans think she's weak. But no one knows my mate like I do. They don't see her gentle heart or her brave spirit. I know why she struggles. I know how strong she is. And I know I'll do anything to make her smile.

But can I convince her that she can be happy in this strange new world with me?

Past and present

This was past and present story. It started out in the present and then went to the past so that we could get Zolaya and Ariana’s story. Then it came back to the present to finish up.

It was fun going back to the beginning when everything was still new and the humans and Sa’kui had just met.

Arianna was the human who cried a lot. Normally I would find that annoying. But the fact that Arianna also found that annoying made it not so bad. She struggled with anxiety and Zolaya was so good to her. He watched her and learned to recognize when her “mind avalanche” would start. He learned how to soothe and calm her. It made him very endearing.

I liked it

Other reviews have me puzzled but I like this story, some aren’t for me or too long off beat story but so far! Tiffany,Layla,Farley,Nora ,Elle and now Ariana are my absolute fave characters! Harlow,Georgie, and Liz were great but the characters didn’t pop like I mentioned the others.

Oh! Now I understand Ariana . . .

But I don't necessarily understand why she wanted to hide the fact that she has anxiety. I mean i get it but at the same time I feel everyone would have been less irritated with her if they knew why she cried so much. Poor baby.

Cinnamon Roll & High Anxiety

Loved how the MMC really took his time with the FMC. Battling panic attacks and anxiety, he really talked her off the edge. Their story was so beautiful.

Short, sweet, funny, charming! Socially relevant.

I wanted a shorter feel-good listen to make me smile and give me all the feels. Ruby Dixon never disappoints! I’m addicted to her interlocking series on the Ice Planet. I’m also very impressed that the author addresses serious mental health issues in a way that humanizes and normalizes them as valid and manageable medical conditions. Great narration!
P.S. I’ve now listened to this audiobook 3 times. It’s a favorite, and I plan to continue coming back to it again and again.

Another great story

I waited a long time for this book and was not disappointed. I love the way the author deals with panic attacks and anxiety disorder in such a positive way. Holly Jackson and Mason Lloyd once again did a wonderful job narrating. Can’t wait for the next book.

language dump

I loved the anxiety on this book I too suffer from anxiety.

The only little confusing part about this was the fact that everyone went and got the language dump as soon as they got their cooties but then why wouldn't Kira have her translator removed at that point and why didn't Tiffany and Josie get the language dump at that point I understand why Liz didn't get it because she wasn't returned yet but there's no real clear explanation why the other girls didn't get the language.

that being said I still absolutely love this book

I also suffer from Anxiety,

so I feel a particular kinship with Ariana. All of her distress and bad temper from the previous novels now makes sense. Whenever I read this book I am reminded that this is simply another reason to share what you are going through. If people still treat you badly then that says something about them, not you. Without the knowledge of what Ariana is going through, she seems annoying. With that knowledge, she transforms into a truly brave individual, facing the hardships of an ice planet to the best of her ability despite an invisible handicap. Thank you again Ruby Dixon for writing complex heroines with completely different perspectives so that we can all embrace empathy while also enjoying a little smut and romance.

Arianna and Zoleya.

Starts off at the current time of the story line then flashes back to the beginning when all the girls landed and starts the story from there, right after the girls get their cootie. Not my favorite of the series but still worth the read. I love this series and the Icehome series. Look forward to more. Narrators are great.
