Story
When empty nester Mallory Farrell inherits her grandmother's run-down tourist shop in Seaport, Oregon, it seems the only sensible thing to do is to sell it. But when her former secret crush, Grayson Matthews, wants to buy the property in order to complete his plans to redevelop the funky town's business district into a soulless, cookie-cutter outdoor mall, Mallory digs in her heels and decides to renovate the property herself. With a lot of hard work and a little bit of help, Mallory makes incredible progress turning the store into an eclectic home décor shop called Romancing the Home.

Story
Miranda did not put adventure on her Christmas list, but thanks to her 85-year-old neighbor Joy, that's exactly what she's getting this year. When Joy tells Miranda that she plans to drive an old RV decked out in Christmas decorations from their Chicago neighborhood to her new retirement digs in Phoenix - in the dead of winter, no less - the much younger Miranda insists that Joy cannot make such a trip by herself. Besides, a crazy trip with Joy would be more interesting than another Christmas home alone.

Publisher's summary
In Back Home Again, sleepy little Acorn Hill is in for a big surprise when the three sisters reunite after the death of their father, a beloved minister. Each has inherited a share of his worn-down Victorian house, and they decide to turn their family home into a bed-and-breakfast. But the women are as different as sisters can be, and they encounter many obstacles along the way. By learning to work together, accepting a little help from their friends, and trusting in God, the three sisters are finally able to see Grace Chapel Inn open its doors.
Written in a lively and engaging style, this book will draw readers in and have them waiting for the next title in the series.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Easy, Light Listen . . . Three Sisters and B & B
Three sisters come together following the death of their pastor father, at first not agreeing on much, but ultimately accepting their differences and turning their childhood home into a bed and breakfast together . . . a light, easy tale of the little town of Acorn Hill, some busy body parishioners and a few bumps in the road to opening the inn . . . not overly religious or preachy . . . just a fun, uncomplicated story . . .

Not worth the time....
Would you try another book from Melody Carlson and/or the narrator?
I don't find the story line compelling--I find it slow-moving, predictable, and I'm learning absolutely nothing. It seems there would be room to learn about renovating an old house, relationships, cooking--but I'm quitting. There is nothing.
What was most disappointing about Melody Carlson’s story?
There is nothing compelling about any of the characters, the plot, the setting.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
There seemed to be no heart in the reading.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The idea was a good one--the reason I have the book.
Any additional comments?
I'd love to return this book.....
