Publisher's summary

Freddie Evans is flamboyant, funny, and a lifelong fan of Jane Austen’s love stories which is how he ended up as a guide on a tour bus. He firmly believes in happily ever afters and would love to find his own with his best friend, Darcy.

Driving a Jane Austen tour bus isn’t the most exciting side job in the world, but to Darcy Griffiths, it represents precious time with his best friend Freddie, who’s the guide. He’s loved him since they were teenagers but has never had the nerve to tell him.

Secrets and feelings become revealed as Freddie and Darcy deal with overly amorous newlyweds and arguments over seat allocations. What will Freddie do when he finally realises his very own Mr Darcy is right under his nose?

This novella originally appeared in the Heart2Heart charity anthology, and no new content has been added.

Short and sweet - Joel makes everything better

This was very short but also very cute. I really enjoy Lily Morton's writing, and this one had a bit of everything in a short amount of time. Best friends to lovers and pining really isn't my favorite thing, pretty much because it usually just hurts too much, lol. While there was some hurt in this, it was totally okay. Didn't even make me cry, which is a miracle.

Joel Leslie did a fab job with it as per usual. He just brings stories to life.

Short and sweet!

This was super cute! Childhood best friends, both pining for the other, working together on a Jane Austen themed tour service. Short enough where the romance feels complete, and where the pining/miscommunication isn't overbearing. Low angst, no breakups/conflicts, an explicit s*x scene.

Joel Leslie is hit or miss for me, and this one was a hit. Maybe his 2 hour long audios are the key for maximum enjoyment!

Jane would be Pleased

This was my first dive into a Lily Morton book and I really REALLY enjoyed this little listen.
Joel Leslie the Narrator was great. His female voices were awesome.
It was well rounded both from a world and character perspective. The story is written from Freddie's POV. MM. The Dialogue was cleverly written. Spice was spicing.

I Highly Recommend this fun little read and or listen.

Fantastic story to enjoy for a quick listen!

Audiobook - My Darcy by Lily Morton
Narrated by Joel Leslie

I'll admit I was initially thrown off by the author's accent (intentional or no), but it took only a few minutes to settle into their flow. It simply was my first audiobook with an accent.

The story is ridiculously cute. A nice short read and listen. Freddie and Darcy are the best of friends, despite being practically the opposite of one another. And though this plot only has Austen as a background inspiration, Darcy's character is very subdued in a similar way as Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice.
Joel Leslie provides a fantastic narration of Lily Morton's novel; very animated and smooth. Although there were a few moments where it was difficult to track which character was speaking, the story was so much fun I listened to it twice in a short time frame. The MCs are funny and work off one another well, and the side characters that we interact with are hilarious. Meddlesome as well, but in the best way. Do take the time and absorb this quick fun read or audio, you'll enjoy it.

I received an authorized copy of this audiobook and am volunteering my honest review.

Lily and Joel are the best duo

Loved this short story when it originally came out. But listening to it was just the best. Warm story to come back to when I need something up lifting.

The Perfect Novella

The way to know if a one off novella is well written is to be fully satisfied upon completion. Often times the glimpse of life that we are presented lacks the depth needed for fulfillment. However Lilly Morton gives us 2 imperfect halves destined to become 2 wholes with the admittance of love. While the flashbacks to them as children becoming friends are quick, they embody the why of their long lasting friendship. Their banter is natural but not without bumps as both men fail to see in themselves the not only other strangers see but what they see in each other. With a bit of octogenarian insight, we finally get the moment that changes it all, the moment to be fully vulnerable with the other and it makes all the difference. Joel Leslie does a great job of differentiating Freddie and Darcy without them being so of the mark that you couldn't see them together. The moments both simple and intimate are enhanced with Joel's performance. This is a perfect quick listen while doing chores around the house or simply needing a romantic mental break.

Cute!

- best friends to lovers
- coworkers

Freddie has been in love with his best friend Darcy since they were teens, and is resigned to the fact that Darcy will never see him as more than a friend. In the hopes to get over Darcy, Freddie has been chatting up with someone on the Heart2Heart app, with plans to meet while in Bath on break during his Jane Austin tour. Despite his feelings for Darcy, he's excited to meet the man he's been talking with because he hasn't gotten on this well with someone outside of Darcy...

It was pretty obvious where this was heading from the start, but I absolutely adored My Darcy! The characters and shenanigans were hilarious, and I loved the P&P tie ins. I will say that I wasn't a fan of the narrator for this, Joel Leslie is definitely an acquired taste, but I still really enjoyed this despite that!

Joel Leslie just makes it better,,,

This is your everyday best friends to lovers romance. It's humorous...low on angst with just the right amount of heat to keep this novella a delight from start to finish. While I definitely enjoyed Freddie and Darcy journey to finally discovering what everybody else knows (their true feelings for each other). this was soooooooooooo much better having Joel Leslie narrating. His performance was on point and very entertaining. He's on of my favs and I mostly listen to anything he does. I will say that I wish it was a 2 person POV instead of just Freddie's.
