Publisher's summary

The sages of Tantra have known for centuries that when you follow the path of Shakti - the sacred feminine principle personified by the goddesses of yoga - these gifts can manifest spontaneously. Yet most of us, women as well as men, have yet to experience the full potential of our inner feminine energies. When you know these powers for what they are, they heighten your capacity to open spiritually, love more deeply and fearlessly, create with greater mastery, and move through the world with skill and delight.

In Awakening Shakti, you will learn how to recognize and invite:

  • Kali, bringer of strength, fierce love, and untamed freedom
  • Lakshmi, who confers prosperity and beauty
  • Saraswati, for clarity of communication and intuition
  • Radha, who carries the divine energy of spiritual longing
  • And more

With a wealth of meditations, visualizations, mantras, teachings, and beautifully told stories, Awakening Shakti provides a practical guide for activating the currents of the divine feminine in every aspect of your life.

healing and integrating.

Sally Kempton's words are like the most soothing reassuring and nourishing presence of an elder woman. there is knowledge that feels more like memories and there is undeniable and relentless love in the narrative. I wish the book was performed by her as well. the narrator has also done a good job. the meditations are wonderful and the book itself feels like a blessing.

Great Text, Horribly Inappropriate Narration

I appear to be one of the only people who hate this narration. I agree that this woman has a nice voice and is perfectly professional, but she also sounds like the epitome of the traditional disempowered female ideal. Pretty, graceful, weak and soft, this voice is completely at odds with the energy of the goddess. For someone like me who is more the Durga or Kali type, this delicate, male-pleasing energy is just worthless. The text itself is awesome, but the narration threatens to transform it into superficial new-age fluff. I have to try very hard to separate the words from the voice and still get value from it. I would much prefer to read this in book form, but I already spend too much time sitting at my computer for work. I think i might have to buy a treadmill so i can hold a book and read while i walk without risking getting hit by a car.

Came into my life in such a synchronous way!

This book has become such a resource for my spiritual development and conscious awakening. Even if one is not religious, I feel all of the world needs these teachings! I'm sure a better, more compassionate society would arise!

AMAZING AND EMPOWERING

I absolutely loved this audiobook. firstly, the narrators voice is so soothing and blissful to listen to. She really made me want to listen more just to relax lol. But also the content of the book was so helpful and informative. I recently and abruptly went through a kundalini awakening. I haven’t been practice yoga for a couple of years so I believe it was awakened after I met my twin soul (whatever lol). But I didn’t even understand what was happening until about a month ago and I realized that the voice I heard say my name and “wake up” was Kali. After she said that I felt this electric current going up my spine and for the rest of the night, let’s just said it was traumatic and I thought I was gonna die. I even went to the hospital the next day. This was in February 2024. When I heard about the kundalini awakening that happens with twin flames, I immediately had my 500hr yoga teacher bestie to confirm and she indeed confirmed that what I had been going through was a kundalini awakening. Since then, I have fully awakened a couple of weeks ago, which was the most profound and peaceful feeling i’ve ever experienced. I am also clairaudient so I hear a lot of voices at night. There was one night that was particularly distressing and I was on the verge of a panic attack, but then I heard Kali ma’s confident and unconditionally loving voice whisper “breathe” as she laid her hand on my back. It was the realest voice i’ve ever heard. it was like another person in the room with me. Since then, I have been in the process of learning about hinduism and the different goddesses (although I am definitely a daughter of Kali ma). This book was so so so helpful and i am so grateful it was put in my life. Thank you to the author. truly thank you so much!

Great listen

Fascinating stories that paint a picture into the topic of the divine feminine mahavidya deities of the Hindu pantheon. The narration was soothing and complemented the content of the book well.

Great book, not a fan of the narrator whisper voice

The book is full of wisdom but the narrator talks in a sexy whisper voice. I found it hard to concentrate as I was annoyed by the voice. Might buy in a paper form to truly absorb the information.

A must for anyone interested in classical tantric philosophy & deities.

Sally Kempton is one of the most respected spiritual teachers of the Siddha lineage and this book is a wonderful journey of mythology, personal empowerment & spiritual growth that any yogini can most definitely benefit from.
This audio version is fantastic - the narrator has a soothing and beautiful voice.

I just started but I am already enveloped by these precious dieties

I have just started this. Having said this the combination of the text and narration has tuned me right in to these precious, sublime and unfathomable beings.

Great job ….and I am only on the first few chapters.
